There may be other causes for TG, I don't know.
When did you have your THR? If you are still limping, then I would suggest that your orthopedist figure out what is wrong and recommend treatment to fix it. In my opinion, it would not be good to go into a second THR when you have fixable problems with your gait. Not being able to hold your hips steady is a real disability. I am still using walking aids 8 months later, and having significant pain. If your current orthopedist can't diagnose the problem, then you need a second opinion from someone in a different practice. That's what I had to do. My original surgeon seems blithely unaware of the possibility that gluteus medius/minimus tendons can tear so badly or that surgery can be done to fix them. I needed hip MRI for diagnosis.
Good luck with this, Pamela!

It is amazing how little the medical profession truly know about the recovery from what they view as a 'simple' operation.
I have just been to have some blood taken, and the nurse said how 'easy' the operation was, so I tried to enlighten her that the recovery isn't the 'walk in the park' she thinks it is. However I think she was a little deaf this morning.

It'll come - never fear, you will be back to normal soon. Funny how you suddenly feel stronger isn't it - After five months of this I still cannot get used to the highs and lows of the rollercoaster.
Day 1 of week 3 - that's a new way of looking at 2 weeks post-op.
I was told by my work physio that I 'will feel crap for about 3 weeks' when I return to work, she says it's incredibly hard to start back, especially with my long commute into London which is usually 90 to 120 minutes long depending on my luck on the trains.
