First few times I had it didn't know what was wrong, thought I was just getting bad arthritis. As pain got worse I went to DR and looked it up on WebMD. Now I know what to eat and I'm fine. I take no meds. and 10 months since last attack.

Started on 100mg Allopurinol and colchicine, now on 300mg daily (have been for 3 years). Works well. Cut back on my alcohol intake, foods high in purines, and sucrose. If I get any attacks, I monitor my UA blood levels - the best way to know what's going on.
