Hello:  I haven't been here for a while, although I check on the discussions.  Question.  I am traveling in a couple days.  By Air it is a 2 hour flight.  I had THR R 7 months ago.  Doing pretty good.   Go to Gym and ride Bike every other day, working Real Estate and doing fine walking.  But wondering if I need to ware the Support Stalking on flight.  Don't want to, but wonder if I should?  It is Denver Airport and a long, long long walk.

I thought If I got up on the plane and walked arouond each 1/2 hour I should be Ok withoug them?    Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Stacey well done you, I'm not sure if you should be wearing them at all but my opinion would be maybe get some of the lighter weight ones, you can get the ones by Scholl that you can't tell their support tights, either way have a fantastic time and enjoy it without worrying

I would take medical advice, but in my opinion, it would be fine without...especially since you will be doing lots of walking at the airport. Your flight isn’t long-haul, either, and, as you say, you can move every half hour. Maybe also do foot exercises while in your seat.

I would take my shoes off and pump my feet up and down for a bit every half an hour.

Hi I had a 4 hour flight when I was the same as you,  about 7 months post op. I did get a bit stiff, but I strolled around and it was fine.

At 7 months you should be OK especially if you can get up and exercise every 30 mins or so, but maybe use some lighter support wear for your own peace of mind.

I found taking a folding walking stick with me on holiday as a precaution helped me, I used it in the airport, it helps in getting a seat to wait for the plane, and the staff tend to be more helpful to you..

I always wear compression "socks" (kind that go to ankle and put socks over it) when flying. In my opinion, it can always be good to wear. The ones I wear are 15 - 20 mmHG compression. They can help a lot, too, when walking. In fact, my husband I and wear them when we are walking all day.

    Hi Stacy

I took some woolen sock on board and wore them during the flight as well as exercising my feet sitting down and also walked around during the flight.

    Enjoy your flight/holiday.

After 7 months, enjoy the flight. No support stalkers needed in my opinion
