All HIV Symptoms but tests negative

The last 5 months have been a complete night for me. I became deathly ill following a potential exposure to HIV through unprotected sexual contact.

I had all ARS symptoms including severe muscles pains, headache, sore throat, inflamed lymph nodes, nausea, pins and needles in arms and feet and oral thrush.

i then continued to develop many other symptoms including: joint pain, extremely dry mouth, mouth sores/ulcers, recurring sore throat, vaginal thrush, petechial rash (little red dots all over body), weight loss, vertigo, constipation, liver/spleen pain, geographic tongue, vibrating sensations throughout body, pelvic pain, irregular bleeding/missed periods, metallic taste in mouth ... the list goes on

I am still suffering from oral and vaginal thrush, geographic tongue, various aches and pains and liver/spleen discomfort 5 months on.

I have tested for HIV at 4,5,6,7,8,9.5,11,12,14 and 16 weeks after the incident all negative using a combination of testing methods including 4th generation duo test.

I really feel helpless now borderline suicidal as I am 100% sure I am infected but the tests have not yet picked it up. I am considering a DNA PCR but have been putting it off due to the financial expense and my doctors will not do it for me.

I should also note that my doc ran a CBC during the acute illness which showed a significant drop in my lymphocytes.

Please someone help/offer support/guidance as I am desperate. The anxiety and depression is too much to handle.

do you have a rheumatologist in your area? I would have extensive autoimmune blood work run if it were me. EBV has been known to be related to autoimmnue disease such as SLE (lupus). If the white coating on your tongue cannot be scraped off, it could be many things like hairy leukoplakia, oral pemphigus (related to SLE) or lupus geographical tongue. Look up images of these on google and see if any of these match your symptoms.

Hi Duvy, if you still check this forum. Could you please write me back. I also live a nightmare. I had a high risk many years ago. I was raped. Someone put something into my glas and I woke up next to a guy who had brown spots all over his body. Probably kaposi sarkom. I was so chocked of how I could have been so stupid to not watch out better. I am an educated person. I don't drink, I don't do drugs. Well. I didn't get tested right away. I was too chocked. Later when I had sinusitis all the time, I got tested for hiv, hepatitis etc. Everything was negative and I considered myself lucky. I got married, got children. After the birth of my child, my symptoms worsened. I have constant neurological pain, skin infections, constantly having a flu. Since my symptoms got so bad, I have tested HIV again. 4th generation combi. Earlier I had also antigen and pcr 1 as well as pcr dna2. Now I tested hiv 1 pcr qualitative and 4th generation combi. Everything negative but also my kids have constant too low lymphocytes and constant infections. Now my husband tells me that also his legs feel numb. As you can see something is very wrong. I have tried to convince myself that it can't be HIV. But here it comes...I have tested my cd 4 cells and not in my head. These have dropped over the years from 750 to 400. Also the cd4/cd8 ratio constantly lower. I am going crazy. I just have to keep going since I have children. I am in constant pain and have to work. I have gained over 10 kg weight. My stomach does not work. Had to laser my eyes. Duvy, could you please answer me. I'm not in UK but if necessary I would be willing to come to UK if necessary. I need help. I've been to at least 30 doctors over the years. Last went to an immunology clinic but according to them my immune system is OK since the cells are still 400. Everyone is ignoring the other facts that I have very bad neurological pain. My husband doesn't believe me since he is probably scared to death that I might be right and we have HIV. If someone is going to tell me go to a shrink, please don't bother. As I said, not in my head. Even a drop in the cd4 cells. Anyone. Any updates.

this is very simillar to what i have experienced. tests are also all negative for me.

dry mouth has gone away but when i had this it was really dry for weeks, no matter how much water i drank.

still have sharp stomach pain from time to time, shoulder joint pain, white marks on tongue at scabs which randomly form on parts of my body.

diagnosed with geographic tongue but not sure.
