Aloe Vera Gel with Tumeric Essential OiI - Best healing ever!

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was so sad that I seemed to have had a backslide and shocking fusing beginning. WELL! I want to share with you all my wonderful turn around.
I stopped in at my Coop and tentatively asked one of the nutritional experts there about skin diseases "down there". The man I like there is an older fellow and very warm hearted. He instantly gently said, Oh, you have lichen? and told him my tale that Vitamin D etc protocol was working internally and that castor oil had been very helpful externally, but not anymore etc.
He, Toby told me about Aloe Vera gel and to mix a tablespoon with 3 or 4 drops of Tumeric Essential Oil. he shared a couple stories and even that he has Oral Lichen and he controls it with swishing with the liquid aloe daily. I took the tumeric home to add to my aloe.
I read up on both of those online - amazing verifiable data on them. Anyway, long story short, this mixture is a friggin' miracle! within a day the fusing was unfusing and I was out of pain again... and I think the thickened skin at my perineum is even getting back to softer.
I've waited a bit to share with you all; I wanted to be sure it was for real. By all means read up on these two things. Oh OH! and along with that mixture, I have also read an article from a doctor that indicates that they think more important than the creams we use it appears to be the massaging in that helps the most! Blessings, Nancy

I'm really suffering right now with several fissures around my anus, including tears n the perineal area, and some swelling and thickening on the lower outer lips of the vulva. What is the best thing to do for the fissuring/tearing?
Just took a Borax and Baking Soda bath which helps with the burning but not the tearing.
hanks,
Andrea

HI Dee... no, I'm an american in North Carolina in the mountains. Good luck with it. Andreavn and Hanny make a really good point. Taking baths regularly is very healing. In fact I've been meaning to mention.. that I had a bit of a little flare coming on last week and was so annoyed 'cause I thought I'd been doing so well with diet and supplements etc.
Welllll... I hadn't been taking my baths because it is really hot here even with the air-conditioned living. HA! I was so tired one night i did one of my meditative bath soaks (with 2T Borax and 2T Baking Soda)... and woke up the next morning feeling great down there. wow! IT's been about 6 days now since that - so it must be time for another "spa relaxation" bath what a pleasurable way to stay healthy! smiles.

Hello Nancy.
My aloe and tumeric is coming today. Like you, I had been doing really well with my 2 daily applications of borax with oils and keeping my LS at bay. But just the last few days it's starting up and I've noticed more fusing again. So annoying. I'm contemplating a dose of steroid cream to see if I can reverse the fusing. Maybe this is the way forward? Periods with steroids and longer periods without and always using the raft of alternative applications alongside, rather than resigning oneself to constant steroid use. It's a mysterious disease and one no body seems to be able to figure out. Diet, hormones, minerals, probiotics, vitamins etc etc, I've tried and am trying the lot but it seems to ignore/fight everything!
A conundrum for sure. Thanks for your support in our journey through.

Hi Nancy, I'm in the UK but have an interesting question and you might or might not know the answer. I have been wondering for a while now if LS is hereditary or tends to run in familys, ie mothers, grandmothers etc. My mother lived to 82 but I know she had Lichen Planus which isn't the same thing but caused intense itching and heat made it worse. Just thought it was worth asking? Take care x

good morning here in the eastern U.S. Dee and everyone. Oh, so Dee I'm so sorry to hear that the aloe mix is not right for you at the moment. It sounds like what others have noted about all of our soothing & medicinal cream choices. - not everything works for every one, and things that work great one month may become uncomfortable another. Like coconut for some people etc.
As I contemplate your experience I am visualizing that metaphor of the frog in the pot of slowly boiling water. Well maybe not that one. being able to wash dishes in very hot water... once our hands have gotten used to the heat? I wonder if you might be able to use aloe if you first use it on your face and arms? it is a fabulous moisturizer and sun burn healer. Biochemistry is such an amazing and precise thing about the human body; I'm just flabbergasted sometimes reading stories.
Dee, I don't know if it's only the tumeric that is reactive for you. I can ask Toby when I see him next for suggestions. When/if you want to try this again, perhaps start with only one drop of tumeric to the Tbs of aloe. many blessings

HI Linda!
How nice to meet another Linda; my best friend and my daughter's godmother is a Linda. smiles.
Well, apparently they used to think that it might be hereditary but more recently when I was doing all that reading that I did to outline this shocking LS discovery, I did find out that a Dr scientist has determined that statistically if we get one autoimmune disease we are liable for another 6!
If I remember the theory correctly, what it means is that the exact autoimmune disease is not hereditary per se, but that autoimmune antibodies in general run in families. SO for instance your mother's autoimmune lichen planus is indication plenty enough that your family has an autoimmune antibody in their genetic pool.
BUT that's not all the story apparently. There must be a apart of this that is environmental but the jury is out on the how's and why's I think i remember reading that a whole village in Turkey sometime ago had LS....
Here is my write up for the science of it etc that i' posted here a couple months ago...

We have so much to learn. Thanks for asking.

Hi Nancy, I can believe that about having more than one auto-immune disease. Iv'e probably had a few for many years and as I go into old age seem to accumalate more. Its amazing what we as humans put up with.

OH! Linda Dear, as I progress into elder ages (I'm 72) my whole-hearted goal and determination is that I WILL NOT acquire any more versions (diseases) of autoimmunity.. No NO , no.
In my philosophy, it appears that the human life cycle (on both sides of physicality) is designed for developing inner spiritual growth and consciousness. This last 7 months of LS for me has included a daily question: What have I NOT been paying attention to that Spirit wants me to learn? What is my body telling me? How an I modify what i am doing to increase my physical, mental spiritual health?

Glad I saw your comment Nancy, do you think that meditation is helpful with autoimmune illness? I ask because I was very attentive with my meditation practice for many years but had all but abandoned it, feeling too "busy" to settle down twice a day to meditate. 28 years ago I was quite unwell with cronic fatigue syndrome. There was very little my doctor could do even though she was aware of it. It wasn't really an accepted illness in the UK . I just had to rest....and rest..it was then I learned to meditate and practiced every day. It got me back on my feet and back to work. Your comment has made me realise that I should start to meditate again. Thanks

Hi there, Very impressed with your findings and I'd like to try turmeric and aloe vera. On youtube there is a tutorial for making turmeric infused coconut oil and I am thinking of trying that - I've ordered some turmeric root from a Thai food supplier.

HI Lindy! Thank you so much.
that's cool you know how to make your own infusions and or essential oils. Sure tryi tand let us know how it goes. I do know that the video I was pointed to identified scientific articles on the healing properties of aloe. that might make a difference in your mixture with coconut oil.

Good Morning Nancy. Thought I would give you an update on my LS story. After many months of self treatment, my LS has 80% gone. I can't use steroids or any moisture potions from docs due to side effects. I haven't changed my diet in any way, ie cutting out sugar, gluten etc. So heres my typical day. I shower in the morning washing my bits with old fashioned water, nothing else. I don't own a bath, so can't sit in anything. I then dry the area with a hairdryer and apply 99.9% Aloe Vera Gel. I take a probiotic tablet and cranberry tablet then and have my breakfast. Before I go to bed I apply the Aloe again and every third night I insert Replens Vaginal Moisturiser which I have used for a number of years. Even my constant irritation in my urethra has eased considerably. The only thing thats different is I got a new tablet under a week ago for my IBS which is working extremely well on the Diarrhea, bloating and pain. As far as I know IBS is not an auto immune disease. And I drink gallons of water a day. Don't know if this massive improvement is temporary or permanent as Im still on list waiting to see Gynae. The only other thing that changed is I retired 2 weeks ago as well and am definetly more relaxed. Any thoughts my friend

LInda! what a wonderful story to hear about. smiles. So, for suggestions. I have seen several websites devoted to IBS that DO believe that it is an autoimmune condition - or at least "associated" or some such word. It can't hep to follow the nutritional strengthening protocol in any case.
COngratulations on your retirement! So, I don't know about the right things for urethra issues, someone else might have suggestions. I DO know I ran across that when looking into the nutritional aspects.. I see if I can refind that reference. Good work girl!
