Am I suffering from Anxiety?

Well to start off, I was at a party about 1 month ago when cocaine, alcohol and cannabis was consumed. Now ever since then it feels like I am suffering from some sort of Anxiety, the reason why I am convinced I am suffering from Anxiety are for these reasons

Heart palpitations (I can see my heart beating out of my chest in between my pecs)

Shortness of breath

A small panic attack (On more than one occassion I have shot up out of bed gasping for breath)

When I sit and lie on my bed it feels like the bed is shaking

I hear fly sounds and cricket sounds in my ears and now and again a ringing sound also

I have consumed cocaine, cannabis and alcohol on more than one occassion and I also smoke. My age is 19 and have been suffering from this for around 1 to 2 months but noting severe. I was going to go to the hopsital to get checked out but there was a 3 hour wait so I jsut haven't bothered.

Any advice would be great, thanks.

CJ I can vouch for that. No one is going to tell u to stop, that is a decision u need to make. I am a recovering addict and I will tell u from personal experience. Drugs and alcohol, which is a drug, makes it 3 times worse. Stop now and deal with some anxiety rather then keeping on using and dealing with a ton. Ur call

Went to the walk in centre after feeling unwell in work, nurse listened to my heart and said it sounds like it is beating perfectly well and no strange sounds coming from it also. Nurse also gave me a ECG test which showed I had an irregular heartbeat and also sinus tachycardia, but couldn't confirm anything from the test and sent me straight to A&E for further tests. Went to A&E and underwent another ECG test, after a 2 hour wait a doctor confirmed that my ECG is perfectly fine and there is nothing wrong with my heart and that my symptons was strictly down to the use of Cocaine and Cannabis. I wasn't prescribed anything and was told my symptoms will wear off when I stop using Cocaine. I have not used Cocaine for 2 months and still suffering from the same symptoms as before so anybody know why I am still suffering? I guess it could be worth an appointment with my local GP but I could just get told the same thing.

This has happened to all of my friends who have taken cocaine, so to me it is nothing unusual. Its all very well people recommending you going to see a medical professional but all that is doing is telling you(in my opinion wrongly) that there is something wrong with your body. There is not. You've had the tests, you are fine. This is why people recommend you stay awa from drugs, nothing more and nothing less hun. It will go away, probably quicker if you stop paying attention to it.

    Hi about 6 months ago

I was at a party taking cociane and drinking when suddenly my heart started racing feeling faint and went weak down one side.

They rushed me to hospital and my heart rate was 160 Bpm which is very fast.

Obviously since then I have stopped they done all the following tests

    Ecg

    MRI scan brain

    Echo heart

    Bloods

    CT brain

    And all come back CLEAR.

Since then I worry a lot about my heart and my health as you can imagine I do stil occainally drink but don't take DRUGS!

Since then I am experiencing all of episodes of sudden weekness in my limbs heart skipping a beat face goes noum with my arms can be both sides or weak even!

Constantly feel dizzy and my left eye goes blurry now and again and see blue spots everyday

Experiencing a lot of panic attacks which at put Me back to A and e or ER how you say. And then they say I'm fine further bloods and ecgs done and send me home.

I doo get a lot of other symptoms but they are the Ones that start me to worry. Which still haven't gone away.

About the way before I ever had to go to hospital 6 months ago I was a for healthy 23 year old boy know I'm just a nervous wreck!

    Could this be anexity ?

Sure it could be anxiety, or it could be residual effects of taking drugs. It could also be anxiety caused by your time with drugs. A lot would say such a foolish lifestyle will of course cause ongoing problems, which is why we are told not to do it. It all depends on your attitude, if you want to get better and face up to what you have done - see a Dr and be honest about it. If you still feel it was a reasonable thing to have done, no problem but don't expect to find a whole lot of understanding in a forum where people struggle with mental health issues which weren't brought on by themselves. It's totally your call
