I think you just seem to get used to them.
Until the docs up the dose! Then you feel a difference.

iv not used it. but know a couple who used it short term after injury
and it worked well, so it seems to be a good short time relief
which you seem to confirm.

anti depressants will mess with your head other wise they wouldnt work with depression, you wont know till you come of . i was on a low dose antidepresnt for just 2 months ,just because i was fed up with being so miserable with the pain, i ended up with night time coughing fits and vomiting, every night without fail, a voice like dearth vadour due to a crashing peek flow from 400 to 200 , and when a nurse saw me for something else she told me to come of because it was them causing my symptoms ,
i felt like s**t for 2 weeks dizzy , and even thou iv been of now about 6yrs i have been left with a permenant cough that wont go away. so there not for me . glad you seem to be ok.

My reply was to Andrea but as I had read the opinions of other contributors felt it necessary to clarify that the low dosage of Ami would not be sufficient to deal with depression and the term you use 'mess with your head' is somewhat misleading in my opinion. I have a background in mental health nursing and sports science and have looked at pharmacology along the way. It sounds like you have had an adverse reaction to the drug, it can happen but is still recommended by NICE as useful for neuropathic pain and helpful in the majority of cases.
I am all for drug free where possible and have found that stretching, gentle exercise, hydro-therapy and socialising great for improving flexibility, strength, endurance and general well being. Of course I get low, it's normal with Fibro but I have a whacky sense of humour and laugh loud and often. Laughter is the best medicine in my book :-)
I hope you feel as well as you can Tina.

but ny doctor says I can go up to 75mg. It does seem to keep me asleep in the mornings, cos I don't need to go to the toilet, which i always did before I took it. Be ok if I didn't have to go to work some mornings!
