I'm 52 female.I've been on this drug for a couple of years. I started with 2.5mg then 5 . The last couple of days I've been put on 10mg as my bp was165 over 100. After reading the commentspabout the drug I don't feel confident about taking a stronger dose. I do feel very tired stressed, joint pains & stiffness. Even tingling down left side if body. Doc said it could be blood pressure causing this tinglness. It is very hard to feel reassured. Is it the drug that us causing these symptoms or is it that I need to get the blood pressure down. I feel very anxious and not sure what to think anymore. Does anyone know of any good natural supplements that help reduce blood pressure?
im now being investigated with blood tests for anemia thyroid problpems, X-ray on chest & knees. I m always stressed with work & home life.
Anyone have any positive outcomes with a this amlodipine? As I'm. So confused.
thanks
Thanks.

I've written this before, but one more time won't hurt, if I didn't exercise I would be a mess. I fought the fatigue by lifting weights, walking, and an acceptance of the side effects of a med that I know I need.

It never fails that I get white coat in doc's office when I know they will check BP and I was feeling anxious the other day and was pleased with my BP reading of 130/70.
I'm loaded with joint pain from OA and Fibro stuff but is the Amlodipine making things worse, I don't know .
Magnesium intake is critical to keep cardio in good shape and I take high doses of mag thru the day.....B vitamins too including Inositol. j

I stopped taking Amlodipine due to the side effects, it took a week for the swelling in my ankles to go down. The Dr put me on Lisinoprol. My BP was 140/95.I started taking Grape Seed Extract, my BP has dropped to 124/89. I intend to stop taking Lisinopril and see how my BP responds to just taking the Grape Seed Extract. The Lisinoprol has caused a dry irritating cough. There does not seem to be a BP medication that does not have unpleasant side effects.

Homeopathics are useful too in the HBP and so is acupuncture.....I don't like these drugs and there are ways to work on this issue without the drugs....just know, BP changes constantly and that 120/80 is so made up I'm convinced....maybe when we were 20.....

Thanks for the info re Magnesium, going to get some this week. Determined to come off all BP drugs asap. How much Magnesium do you take daily?
I am horrified that Dr's are making terrible mistakes mixing drugs which are not supposed to be combined,eg Simvastatin and Amlopidine. I was taking Atenolol but have asthma. I found out by chance that Asthnatics should not be on Beta Blockers - scarey!

Doc are brainwashed to do write scripts and that's what they do...we can't trust them too much, so need to do our own work....
