An Experiment with Borax

So, I've been in Vietnam now for just over a month. Haven't had any itching, but the white plaque has expanded and looked like a bit more fusing had occured. Panic set in and of course I was trying not to. However, now that we're here, my husband has been able to start doing more research to help me. And he came across some stuff about borax. So we started an experiment 6 days ago. Not using any steroids, but instead each morning and night he's applying to one side a saturated borax solution and the other side a saturated baking soda solution (as we'd read that some people found baking soda helpful). We've been taking photos in order to compare as we progress. As mentioned, we are on day 6 and there is honestly some change! My clitoris which was quite white has returned to pink. And while the whole area still has some white, the pink is really starting to move in more. The biggest changes are on the side with the borax, with some change on the side with the baking soda (but since some of the borax can get rubbed off on that baking soda side we can't say for certain that the baking soda is having a major effect). We are feeling optimistic about this and I will keep everyone posted. During the day I do continue to add vitamin E oil to keep moisturized.

Just wanting to ask, - do you ask"help" to infuse the fusing.? Confused? 😊
I mean, does the unfusing happen by itself, or would it be safe to help it along with your fingers?

Hi, I am soaking in the Borax twice daily and using the saturated solution on a cloth as Alistar mentioned. I am not pulling anything, just hoping things will unfuse! Many have mentioned to be patient so that's what I am practicing. Look forward to reading what others have to say.

Hi there! I never helped it along, it just happened. Fingers crossed that you are equally as successful!! Please keep us posted, and I do always suggest taking pictures when you're first starting out. That really helps you monitor things and see if a change is occuring.

Thank you Alistar for this thread. I am just diagnosed last week, right before the holiday!!! Let's just say my holiday was not normal. I couldn't stop thinking and worrying and crying; but also researching... and I found this forum. I was only given over the counter cortizone to use for a month and little info. I freaked out when I looked at myself at home later since I had no clue such a thing existed. I saw a lot of white and what looked like a couple of blisters. I used the borax and the next day, it felt better. I did take your advice and take pics and am glad you stress that because it's hard to see otherwise and I know for sure that there is definite improvement. By the third day, the white areas seemed to slough away I guess. I am still unsure exactly what is meant by fusing...I'm still learning. And, I do feel that part of me is smaller. I go back to my gp tomorrow because I called and asked for another consult. I am going to tell her all of this and I hope I can avoid a biopsy. I would almost like to have some clob on hand even if I don't use it all of the time. I've only seen one other person who used the 1 percent. I want it to get deep enough to work beneath the surface.
I also had some sore areas that were probably tears and they seem healed honestly. No, I'm not perfect, but what a difference. So...I thank you and your husband for researching and sharing this. I've since read a lot about Borax and it's amazing how many uses it has but I would never have thought of it. This diagnosis made me feel less feminine and desirable; not to mention so afraid. I do have a lot of medical anxiety anyway. I wish you all well. This site has saved my sanity this week.

Sorry that you join the rest of us on this journey. It really is such a blow when you find out. I'm in a very supportive relationship, but this has still affected my sense of desirablity and feminity too. It hits on so many levels. But, the borax solution has definitely made me feel a bit more normal. When I'm finished breastfeeding I might start try ingesting some borax (a very very small amount) as I've read you can get some benefit from it...my hope is it could work from the inside out.
As for the fusing, take the labia for example, if it fuses together you will essentially lose the crease. I was starting to lose my labia minora, hadn't even realized it. But it's unfused. And thankfully, after freaking out, I realized that I've actually never had a very large labia to begin with.
Anyway Willow, we're here whenever you need reassurance, support, to vent, or whatever. You're definitely not alone even in the moments you feel like it!

Thank you so much. I'm sitting in my doctor's waiting room now for a consult. Nervous but I now have more good questions for her. Thanks for the explanation. That makes sense. This site is so wonderful.

Hi Alistar
I've been following your borax experiment with great interest, so decided to give it a go myself.
How long will it take to see unfusing of the labia? I have been using the saturated solution morning and night for 6 days and nothing has changed yet :-(

Hi there, well, each person is different, and certainly depending upon what level of fusing you have. I had minor fusing, but I think it probably took a month-ish, maybe 2 months. I read every comment that comes up, however sometimes I don't have to time to find them to reference back, this is one such case...I do remember reading of some members of the group waiting many many months, but that their fusing was quite advanced. As is the case with this disease, not everything will work for everyone, or in the same way. Has the borax helped on any other front? I found when I first started using it that within a week I definitely started to notice that the white plaque was starting to diminish. Not a lot, but a start. I also notice that when I use the borax, if I'm having a flare-up and am super itchy, it cuts that right down quick. Keep at it, and take pictures....they will be the best thing to help you as then you can actually see when there is a difference occuring! Good luck and please keep us posted!!

Thanx for your reply. I don't see any white plaque and I am not itchy at the mo as have been using dermovate twice a week and ovastin internally. Initially I didn't even know there was something wrong with me, just felt a bit strange down below sometimes. It was diagnosed at the sexual health clinic, I went there to be tested for any sexual diseases, as I found out the bloke I was sleeping with was also at it with someone else :-((, I was given the all clear but they said I had LS, I was in shock, I hasten to add I not in contact with this guy anymore, came out of it heartbroken but thanfully nothing else.
I don't think I have LS severely, thank goodness, but inner labia have most definitely fused but not disappeared. Strangely I was always red and sore after sexual intercourse, do you think this is because of the LS. This is a fantastic forum, everyone helping each other and so informative. I will keep going withthe borax, fingers crossed, and thank you soooo much

I'm very happy to have found this discussion. I'm wondering if anyone has spongy growths inside the vaginal opening, and, if so, whether you apply the borax solution to them as well?

Hi yes
I have spongey blisters , all around my vaginal enterance
They never seem to go,
My Dr never seems to bother about them,
What do we do, ?
I've just ordered some borax,
I haven't started using it yet,
Just need to feel like me again,
Hope your OK ,...

You say blisters? Mine are, uhm, inert I guess. They're not inflamed or raw or itchy or anything like that. My doctor didn't note them either, and, when I Google it, I find indications that it's normal structure, or possibly a sympton of vaginal prolapse. So, I don't know if it's even connected to the LS. All I know is they weren't there, or I couldn't detect them, until a year or 2 ago.
