An Experiment with Borax

So, I've been in Vietnam now for just over a month. Haven't had any itching, but the white plaque has expanded and looked like a bit more fusing had occured. Panic set in and of course I was trying not to. However, now that we're here, my husband has been able to start doing more research to help me. And he came across some stuff about borax. So we started an experiment 6 days ago. Not using any steroids, but instead each morning and night he's applying to one side a saturated borax solution and the other side a saturated baking soda solution (as we'd read that some people found baking soda helpful). We've been taking photos in order to compare as we progress. As mentioned, we are on day 6 and there is honestly some change! My clitoris which was quite white has returned to pink. And while the whole area still has some white, the pink is really starting to move in more. The biggest changes are on the side with the borax, with some change on the side with the baking soda (but since some of the borax can get rubbed off on that baking soda side we can't say for certain that the baking soda is having a major effect). We are feeling optimistic about this and I will keep everyone posted. During the day I do continue to add vitamin E oil to keep moisturized.

    Hi Alistar,

Exciting news about the sodium borate!  I’ve ordered some online and can’t wait to try it.  Bless you for sharing this.

We can't stop looking at the pictures and comparing. Be sure to do that if you can. The last couple of days my husband has soaked a small cloth that he'll place over the entire area and press it up against it. We've left it on like that for about 30 minutes (he doesn't hold it in place, we just lay it there). But I think applying by qtip was what has done the trick with the fusing. I hope you have some success!! Definitely let me know and I'll of course keep posting here about how things continue to progress for myself smile

So I've abandoned the baking soda. The difference between the two sides was just so drastic that I felt like I didn't want to waste any more time and start treating the baking soda side with borax. I've not seen my bits this pink in I don't know how long? It's a shame I'm not still in Canada because I would have loved to have gone to my gyno and shown her to see what she would have to say!

Once the right side has caught up to the left, I will probably apply the borax once a week for a while and eventually stop to see how my body reacts. I will continue to apply vitamin E and jojoba oil though, important to keep moisturizing!

    Hi Alistar,

I received my sodium borate (borax) a few days ago. While waiting, I've been taking baths every night and sprinkling in some baking soda.  Also, I've been applying coconut oil a couple of times a day.  When I began the borax treatment and examined myself, I was shocked to see that I had already begun to heal.  I've been applying the borax solution with a q-tip twice a day and each day I look better.  The bright white areas have now become pinkish and my tissues are softer and plumper.  It's such a happy surprise, it made me cry.

Will continue the borax treatment until I'm completely normal, then will cut back.  By the way, I read on line that many people swear by emu oil, so I've ordered some.  It's pricey so if the coconut oil, etc works, I probably won't need to buy the emu oil in the future.

Yay! I'm so happy to hear that this working for you too Anna! It's still so hard for me to believe that is, but like you, every time we look it's getting better and better. Hopefully others will give this a try and we'll continue to hear positive results. I've heard a little bit about emu oil, but I think it'll be hard for me to get ahold of here in Vietnam. So in the meantime I'll stick to my vitamin e and jojoba oil + essential oil mix.

      Hello Alistar,

Thank God for the brave women on this site who have shared their stories and treatments.  I've learned more here than from my ob/gyn and other websites put together.  Also, it's so comforting to know we are not alone in this.

I'll let you know if the emu oil is worth the extra price.

      Hi Alistar

I have received the Borax and have made up a solution but not sure if I've put enough Borax in it, also did you dissolve it in warm water? I also have the Emu oil and starting to try that. I've been on the steriod oitment for a month now but most days am still feeling strange in the vagina area, not itchy just a strange feeling. As you have had remarkable improvement with unfusing using the Borax, and I want to get it right I need to get the ration of water:borax correct, I think i've probably made it too watery as I've applied the solution for a couple of days and don't see any changes :-(

Essentially what you're you going to do is add the borax to the water, stirring to disolve (you don't need to heat the water). Once you've gotten to the point where, when you add more borax, it doesn't dissolve, you then have a saturated solution (meaning the water is "thick" with borax and cannot hold anymore). I applied it both morning and night, taking photos both times of day. Things didn't change overnight, so give a week or two. Dip a q-tip in the solution and apply it. I didn't just "rub" it on once, I dipped applied, dipped applied a few times. Once I'd done this for a few weeks, I started soaking a cloth in the solution and gently placed it on the affected area and lay down with the cloth on. I would leave it 20-30 minutes. Don't give it! And don't lose hope. smile

      Hi Alistar

I got my borax online as it's not available in the uk.

I was using it daily for about four days, but it seemed to make me very stingy. So I stopped using it sadly, I was wondering if I had possibly made the solution too strong, what do you think, and have you unfused big time? I am going through a lot of stress and my clitoris is now itchy, any suggestions are very welcome. Thank you

I have had some stinging but it always subsided after a very short amount of time. And for me, the stinging seemed to match with some of the fusing releasing. As for your solution, is there any borax sitting at the bottom of the class? It should be fully dissolved, and if it's not dissolving after some agitation then you probably have used too much borax (we make some and use it over the course of a week or so, so some borax always settles to the bottom until I give it a good stir). How are you applying it? We used a cotton swab to start, just dipping it in the solution and then dabbing it over the white plaque and along the seems of my labia. Damn that stress, is really wreaks havoc with our LS! I would make sure to keep moisturized, use vitamin E or jojoba oil, or coconut oil. I've not tried Emu oil but apparently it's really good. I hope that a solution can be found for you. I'm sure you've read that Anna777 has had some really great results using the borax as well. Not sure if what I've said will help, but I hope it does!

Hi Thank you for your help. The borax does dissolve but when it is left standing there is quite alot of borax sitting at the bottom of the jug. Also over a period of time the solution has evaporated and left borax again at the bottom of the jug. I have noticed today the white lines have come back on the crease of my labia. I have been using emu oil

When I leave my borax out I do put a cover over it. As for the white lines, again I can only speak to my experience, when I had them show up since my use of borax (I did stop for a short period to see how my body could handle things, and then stupid stress hi), I made up some solution and started applying it, and actually gently rubbed at the while lines I had. I found the white lines "rubbed" away - I feel fairly confident that the white lines I experience was the fusing starting to take place.

I have been using borax for about 5 days now and am very happy. Less itching and i think i am down to zero swelling now. still some white, still tender, still fused over my clitoris... but things are turning a regular healthy pink! And i can only imagine continued improvement! Anyway, i know it's been 3 years since kippy's post, but maybe one day someone will read my response to her and it will help them. I noticed when i left some borax solution in the sink, it dried up and left behind a shiny crystaline structure. Later, when walking my dog, i had some stinging. Different from the normal LS burning feeling. Like actual sharp little stinging as i walked. Couldn't help but wonder if it was the crystaline structure of the borax solution that had dried up but remained on my skin? I have sensitive skin, so i thought that might be the case. I also wonder if it is that same jagged structure of the molecule that helps with unfusing? Anyway, my solution was just to rinse off a strong solution before doing a lot of movement. I do not intend to give up the borax! It is the first thing that's ever actually helped me!

Dear Megghan 6...I believe your stinging is because you didn't melt the Borax solution. completely in warm to hot water...make sure it melts completely

Glad you are are getting better

I've been using a mixture of fine borax powder that I mix into an oil based solution called Yes and I apply every day and night for the past four years. Recently I decided to just apply the solution with out the borax and within twenty four hours I started itching! This is proof that the addition of the borax is the best way to treat the ongoing symptoms of LS.
