Another day of misery!!

One thing is for sure no matter how many times you have your knee replaced it never gets any easier nor does the pain get any less, I think the opposite is true. Each time you have surgery on the same knee its a little bit more involved then the last each time the pain is a little more intense and no it does not make the recovery any less it just adds. Today I have done just about nothing walked around the house pulled a few weeds turned on the sprinkler ( it is very hot in Va Here in Richmond Va the highs are pushing 105  so I was not out long minutes as in 10? Now I am laying on my sofa and saying I am miserable is putting it mildly and what stinks the only thing that gets easier with each revision is you know beyond a shadow of a doubt for a good while every day is going to hurt some worse then others you go to bed in pain you do not sleep well due to pain you wake up in pain when the therapist comes it is going to be more pain. Yes hopefully in the end it will be worth it for the majority of everyone it will be for me its the unknown I hope so but there are no guarantees.

I had both knees done last year. One in may and the other in Sept. I had an easy time of it, but cant imagine doing it again. I am having my spleen and part of my pancreas removed in 2 weeks. Surprise, they found a tumor. I am more worried about the knee rejection than the surgery. They said any bleeding is dangerous for 2 years after knee replacement. So I am freaking out. I know a woman who had 3 knee replacements then had to have her leg amputated because there was nothing left in the knee. So many things they dont warn us about. Good luck. I have not stopped napping since my first knee. I dont know if it's from that, or this damn tumor. Getting older is not a thrill.

Not amazing news but good enough for me. The pain I have been dealing with has not been fun any replacement or revision is going to hurt put yourself in my shoes this was # 6 and as much as I was hoping what I have been told was true the more surgeries you have on a certain area the worse the pain and length of recovery. Today I had my first follow up. The Dr. was not in but I saw the Nurse Practitioner she was very nice she took one look at me and knew I was miserable. I told her what I have been thru and I am not begging for more pain meds like a kid I just want to feel better. We discussed the meds I was on from the pain Dr. and I told her exactly what I am taking. She just wants me to feel better so now instead of 1 dilaudid 4mg every 4 hours along with 2 xtra strength Tylenol now I am supposed to take 2 dilaudid 4mg every 4-6 hours and let her know tomorrow thru the patient portal how I am doing if it works great if it does not she will try something else they just want me to feel better. That really makes me feel better I was worried. The 53 staples came out the nurse that has been coming by to monitor my blood while I am on blood thinners might be in a tad bit of trouble, the nurse practitioner looked at the PICC line and asked when it was last changed I replied it hasn't the dressing came loose and I asked the nurse to change it but she said she needed orders so all she did was put more tape on it. That did not go over well with the Nurse Practitioner so that will be changed tomorrow as well. So overall pretty pleased with todays appt.
