Anxiety brain tumour fears

I have been having anxiety since last August. Since October I have been having headaches. I have seen around 10 doctors who have gave me nuerological exams, light in eyes etc. 2 eye tests and I still can't get over this fear of brain tumour. Sometimes the headaches are like stabbing pains, sometimes the top, sometimes the back. The main one has been a constant dull ache just above my ear on right side. I am constantly waiting to have a seizure. I check my eye pupils constantly. I have pins and needles in right hand a lot. my legs feel week. No problems with eyes except sometimes I see flashes when I blink, I'm nauseas a lot but haven't been sick. Are these signs of a tumour or just anxiety?

Probably just anxiety, Annmarie27. My late brother died of a brain tumor last year at 59 years of age, he was an airline pilot and very healthy. His symptoms started with experiencing strange smells and he told me-I told him to get in to see a neurological surgeon and they spotted a medial temporal lesion on his brain. Glio Blastoma, which is almost always aggressive and terminal (it is what John McCain has now).

But, just pain in the head is very rarely a symptom of cancer. Especially if it doesn't progress to something more serious. We all have head pains, some more than others. Lots of things can cause it, most of them are trivial. I started seeing a strange visual effect in my right eye about 2 years ago and was worried about a possible brain tumor. I talked to my Opthamologist at my yearly eye exam (she's also big eating natural foods) and she said she used to have the identical thing and it was caused by preservatives in our food. She went 'natural' on her diet and they disappeared. I stopped eating food with lots of preservatives in it and haven't seen the 'halo' in my eye in months.

But, if you are really concerned go have an head MRI done by a specialist, they can put your fears to rest about a brain tumor. I'm sure it's nothing.

Hi, first you should know that anxiety is a mental disorder that happen into your mind due to continuous thinking about something or someone or nervousness. It can be cure easily by proper medication and following a healthy lifestyle. Most of the anxiety disorders traced into early stages but some of the suspicious symptoms emerges later in life. Symptoms might be the results of neurological disorders. Where as brain tumors can be underlying cause of hallucinations and sensory disturbances.

Hey Leroy, what you just described was me 2 years ago. After so many Dr visits I finally just had enough and just convinced myself it's all in the mind. You already did the right thing in seeing the Dr and got negative results. I know it's easier said than done but try not to think about it, talk to someone that is supportive and positive. I been there and I know it sucks. I've been anxiety free for almost 2 years .. I stopped googling symptoms which made things worse. The other day I had chest pains I just took my mind off of it and it went away. Couple of years ago I would've went to the ER. But hang in there and talk to someone it helps and know you are not alone in this. A lot of us are going through this.
