Anxiety in the stomach

Has anyone had the feeling of anxiety in the gut? Even after a bm I get this shakiness. My stomach is constantly popping and if I touch it I can hear the gas bubbles ..It feels so weak and nervous. I also have this feeling of something in my throat. I had thyroid testing done and t3 comes back low. Im wondering if it's my thyroid. I m freezing cold especially my feet and temp is around 95 this week. I feel like my body is out of control. 😢

Hi Mary, yes indeed I get the gurgling in my stomach also, this was some of my first set of symptoms, and just lately ive been getting the weird throat thing and it freaks me out, the stomach issues have calmed down a lot for me but yes on the weird throat feels thick and I keep swallowing and trying to clear it.. I suppose there is a lot of mucus there too.. I tested high antibodies a few years ago for my thyroid which would be consistent with hashimotos I quickly as you know eliminated a lot of foods from my diet and felt much better with the thyroid , which I think is affected by perimenopause as well, I'm sure it should settle right down along with all my other symptoms just as soon as peri/menopause settles.. And I too am always cold low temperatures low heartbeat pulse everything on me is low, all though my heart will race up there faster for me and give me skipped beats and flutters with palpatations at different times of the month which also freaks me out, but I'm pretty much use to all of this now and I just tell myself well this will pass soon I'm having an awful day, then it passes and I'm good, and onto the next bunch of crazy symptoms.. Also I'm from Chicago and its so cold right now with windchills that are record breaking, so I'm inside with layers of clothing and blankets on and still freezing, feet and hands especially.. I just turn in my blow dryer for a few minutes and blow it on my feet and hands and it warms me right up 😃 hope you find some relief soon , and start to feel better..

Gypsy, I've been still pushing through this. At one time, I was doing so well for maybe two months. I though I was back to my old self. haha! Well at least it was good while it lasted. This digestion has been in overdrive. I still can't gain any weight. Yesterday, I manage to eat out of my norm. I ate a Taco salad. Actually, it seem to make me feel better. My body is probably starved for food. I am literally scared to eat anything different because of the food
sensitivities that I have now. I get hot flashes, and heart palps from certain foods. But I guess this morning I paid for it..my stomach was making all sorts of noises , and so much anxiety . Yes I agree peri does messes with the thyroid. My t3 came back low last week. I just can't stand the throat feel. I too bring up mucus also. I've been using my heating pad and it helps but at the same time I get a hot flash so I have to quickly take it off. Then on top of all my peri, my 14 yr old daughter is still having peri symptoms . She seem to have symptoms like mine. ...so stressful
But like you said, this too shall pass. Are you on any thyroid meds? What type of foods do you eat to help thyroid?

yes not eating many different foods for a while and then all of a sudden eating it again can cause all that gurgling gut issues..I really eat the same foods too anf have lots of food sensitives so I keep it very simple until I'm thru my perperimenopause , I follow the anti-inflammatory diet, fruits veggies lean meat eggs seeds nuts salads .. And ive included some cheese not aged either and some regular chocolate bars to try and increase my weight, and I sure havr started gaining again so much so like 10 to 15 pounds lol so now I need to cut back on the chocolates and cheeses 😦

Also thats great that you felt great for a couple months, sounds like your very bad symptoms are starting to settle a bit for you, you actually have light at the end of the tunnel. And for your daughter maybe the gyno can put her on birth control if shes not already on it, I remember needing to go on it when I was 14 because of very heavy periods and awful symptoms, I was getting periods 3x a month, I would only not bleed a few days a month all the rest of the days were spent laying down with my feet up because I would get very dizzy like I would pass out from all the blood loss, so I spent most of my teenage years on birth control pills..

Im glad that you have gotten some weight on. Oh I wished I could eat some chocolate! Im too scared to try it and then was told i have candida. Oh well maybe soon. What kind of cheese are you eating?

candida you can keep in check eating a bit of yogurt or have some acidophilus its easier if you can just have some yogurt I cannot so I drink a little bit of the milk.. I eat mozzarella brick cheese..a lot of these foods I am sensitive to as well and too scared to try and reintroduce , but I had to do something for some extra calories , at first the milk chocolate bars did give me the gurgling stomach even made me feel a bit wired anxious maybe from the sugar in it, but that didn't last very long, I say try it and start slow like I did one square then two, I am now eating a half bar everyday with some seeds and I mix up like a trail mix as my snack..

Forgot to say the sunflower shelled seeds has magnisium in them that helps with palpatations.. A lot of these foods we can become sensitive to going through Menopause they can make your symptoms so much worse or even bring on symptoms you didn't even have before, I was experiencing more jitters like more anxiety more red faced flushing , lots of gas or belching , so I just stayed away from everything I became sensitive to, but can lose too much weight doing that, and what doesn't help is the nausea like when you had morning sickness and couldn't eat when first pregnant, these hormones are no joke on the body that's for sure..

Hey love i have a terrible stomach. I have ibs so know all about how your feeling . The gas and bloating is the worst for me i never had an isdue with my stomach until perri started now i am lactose intolerant. I cant eat onions and certain other things. As far as thyroid is concerned my sister has thyroid issues and she had similar symptoms as you. Has doc suggested testing it further ultrasound ext or starting meds. I do know that your thyroid can throw your whole body outta whack until its taking care of not like theres not enough things to deal with lol. I also find that the more anxious or nervous or stressed i am the worst my stomach is. Try deep breathing and what ever else you enjoy that takes away your stress and anxiety. I hope you feel better love..xoxo

Hi Renee..I had ultrasound done back in Nov and everything was ok. She narrowed it down to IBS. But I've never had all these symptoms with it before. I'm going to try to get into another endocrinologist, the last one I went to didnt think too much of the low t3. Also, my daughter is experiencing all these symptoms too and she's only 14. I read an article this morning about how daughter usually go through puberty around same time mom go through perimenopause. Very interesting. She has done so much testing and no one can tell me what's wrong. Her thyroid was normal last time but low the time before. Let me know how you get on with your findings. Hope all goes well.

Wow Mary I'm in the Dr's. office for the same issues. They just ordered lab work and prescribe meds for acid reflux. It's so scary. Hope you feel better soon.

Breezy so sorry to hear you re dealing with this. It can be very aggravating. I did Ultrasound in Nov and everything was fine. I went in complaining of right side and she noticed the bloated and ordered scan. Now it has switched its mainly my left side now.
Let me know how everything turns out,
Most likely, it's these hormones..take care and hope all goes well.

Clare are you able to eat? It's been difficult for me to eat as well. All of this has come on since the past few weeks. I had the bloating at first but not the nausea. Now it's a combination with the anxiety/ nervousness.
