Anxiety, inner ear disorder, headaches

I have been dealing with what I thought was labyrinthitis for 4 long months, I went to an ENT yesterday and he looked in my ears and told me it's not lab. I don't know what else it can be.. now I'm extremely scared. I'm thinking that it's something a lot worse, or that I'm going to have to deal with this for the rest of my life. It makes my anxiety go crazy, I don't know what to do. My symptoms vary

Dizziness (the rooms not moving, it feels like my brain is)

Head pressure

Headaches (but never severe more like pressure or sinus pressure)

Anxiety (worse at night)

Sleep problems (like last night, I had these weird sensations of a full head with pressure, heart rate was 50s-60s it was difficult to keep my eyes open and my body felt numb)

Tinnitus in my left ear (gets worse with anxiety)

Agitation (at everything that's going on, then it will turn into crying spells because I hate feeling this way)

My left arm goes numb every night (maybe because of how I lay)

Ear pains once in a while

Heart rate varies and is usually over 100

The weather has been windy here and I wonder if that has anything to do with how it's effecting me, because I have sinus problems (I think)

Does anyone else feel this way? What could this be? My anxiety has been manifesting in so many different ways, and I'm scared that my body is falling apart and that I'm dying. Please help sad

My hearing isn't clear a lot. You're not dying it's your anxiety just try to relax stay calm and drink lots of water no caffeine and Gatorade as well for electrolytes it really helped a lot

Yes and your still alive so I guess I'm not dying, ha. I'm just scared. It sucks horribly. Do you or anyone else have worse anxiety at night? As soon as the sun starts to set my anxiety rises up with a vegance. Anxiety, dizziness, headaches. It's all very horrible.

I get really scared too! At some points I can be much more rational (sort of like right now) but then other times I will just lose it! And yes! It seems like that a lot for me! Many times it seems to get worse when it's around the time I should go to bed, and then it is really bad many times when I first wake up as well. I am likely to feel most "normal" during the middle of the day, I think because many times I can be more distracted. My symptoms are the worse when just laying in bed at night and then when I first wake up and try to get moving.

That's exactly my problem. It sucks, last night it was so bad to where I could barely keep my eyes open. It was horrible. I was so tired but it was tough to sleep even though my body felt like it was dead and same with my mind. It was horrible.

Yeah, I had been sleeping better lately in the past week & a half or so, but last night and the previous weeks before that it was such a struggle! It takes a while to fall asleep (especially when you feel symptoms) and then I wake up and just automatically feel like I need to be on high alert! I used to literally have panic attacks in the night (not anymore though) but now I just wake up in the night like "why do I feel this symptom?" "Why is my hand burning?" Or "is my headache gone yet?" That is how it is in the morning too. I wake up with symptoms and wonder why I feel the way I do. Today I woke up, and felt some symptoms, honesty wanted to break down right there, but then I had unexpected plans, quickly got up and ready, and overall did not feel too many symptoms, only a headache and neck pain as the day progressed. I think it is because I was more busy than usual. It still was on my mind "when will I feel really bad?" "Why do I feel like this?" But I guess it got pushed back a bit further in the mind than it has been. Now that I am laying in bed for the night, I am starting to feel the burning sensations coming back (that's my main symptom right now)

I live in Texas! What about you?

Oh and also, you say you wake up every night with a numb left arm? I think that sort of thing happened to me! When I was at my worst, I woke up I think 3 days in a row with my left leg completely numb! Also if I ever getting a whooshing sound, it comes from my left ear, and many headaches seem to originate on that side by the ear. So scary! And one time I woke up first with the left leg numb, and then an hour later woke up again with my right hand feeling numb!

I haven't experienced that in a while now, and I have attributed it to the fact that I seemed to be at my worse at that time.

Dang, that sucks for sure. Yeah I hear it's better to keep yourself busy. We have bad weather coming in so it's been windy lately, and it's dusty here (Arizona) so my sinuses are horrible. I'm also dealing with some sort of Vistibular disorder and it's terrIble! I hope your night gets better for sure, mines up and down and it's just now turning 8.

Yeah, it's normally when I lay on it. It sucks! Right now, my head has dull and achy pain in it, my left ear feels full and ringing pretty bad, dizziness a bit (kinda like I'm on a boat but nothings moving just feels like it) that's my vistibular disorder mostly I thinK. My anxiety makes the dizziness worse and causes me to feel depersonalization because of the constant dizziness feeling in my head. Plus from what I read the anxiety makes it all worse too. It makes the dizziness and everything 10 times worse.

Everything that you've described sounds exactly like what I experience and it is anxiety. It's horrible and it can become really difficult to cope with. I've found that my anxiety gets worse at night and I obsess over things so much more. I've found that talking about it with people here who understand really does help. How are you feeling today?

Just noticed your post. First of all, dont assume that Anxiety is the cause rather than one of the many symptoms.

I had something very similar to you and after a lot of searching discovered that it was actually Chronic Migraine. Be aware, very few doctors really know what they are talking about on this subject - it took me many years to find a couple that do!

Before going down this route and me suggesting a way forward my I ask.....have you previously suffered from migraine at all ?

Not really that I know of. I don't normally get bad headaches. Some dull and achy but nothing I can't control are that are out of control unless I have the flu or dehydrated.

      Hi Nichop,

I am struggling with a lot of the same symptoms mentioned above- no dizziness though.

I definitely have been struggling with anxiety and believe i may have had a real intense migraine this past weekend. Otherwise, its general aches and pains- typically on one side- radiating along my temple, jaw line and ear.

If this is chronic migraine, how have you found to cope with the symptoms? has anything worked? Any info would be helpful!

      Thanks,

      Allie

      Hi Lockerby,

I just found your post and found some relief in knowing Im not the only one feeling this way. I just moved to arizona about 6 months ago- but about a 2 months ago, I developed what a few opthamologists believe to be dry eye which is what started this whole thing.. (still have dry eye)

How are you feeling?? Has your anxiety subsided? Did you find anything to help with your symptoms??

      Thanks for listening!

      Allie
