Hi,im trying to find people with anxiety and suffer from the same sort of symptoms as i have myself.the thing thats worrying me the most is shortness of breathe/not been able to breathe proply.my breathing started around a year ago.it would normaly come and come and most of the time i could blank it out by doing something that ocupied me.in the last month ive been to the docs and had my chest listened to and my heart.i explained all what i was feeling to the doc.he put it down to anxiety/depression.in the last 2 weeks ive had constant shortness of breath and every now and then i have to take a deep breath to feel like ive taken air in.sometimes it takes a yourn to feel like ive actualy taken air in.im scared to say the least as ive convinced myself i have lung cancer.its like a chesty cough feeling in my throat aswell if anyone knows were im coming from.would be nice to speak to people with same symptoms as me or had these symptoms.thanks in advance people.i wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy.

Hi
I do suffer from this and am still trying to get my head around the fact that anxiety can be causing it. I do have lots of checks on my heart a few years ago though so I'm guessing that not much can have changed between now and then. My dr is sending me for a chest X-ray, I think more to put my mind at rest so that I can then put all of my focus into working on the anxiety. My advice would be to try to get some CBT, obviously the dr knows best but if you really aren't happy with your chest symptoms then maybe ask for an X-ray. I know that having lots and lots of health checks isn't always recommended when you have health anxiety but i do feel that the dr putting me through some of the checks that he has had really allowed me to begin to accept that I am suffering from anxiety and allowing me to focus on interventions for this. Good luck!

Hi,
I'm suffering with the same symptoms as you, my breathing is quite fast and heavy, I noticed it about 3 months ago. I went to the doctors and she said I have good oxygen levels. I just don't understand it. I had a chest X-RAY 18 months ago and that was all clear, I'm scared as like you think there's something seriously wrong with me, I suffer with anxiety, depression and have panic attacks. To top it all, I have a nasty cold at the moment so it's making matters worse. I sat up in bed last night because I was convinced if I layed down i would choke to death. Like you, I'm one worried person. Just hope it goes away soon.

Hi , I smoke a pack of cigs a day & I also have breathing problems. I had a chest x ray yesterday & all is ok. I really think it is from anxiety & maybe my smoking also.
If u don't smoke than chances are it's anxiety. If u do smoke have a chest x ray & put your mind at ease. When I take 2 instead of one anxiety pills my breathing slows down. I must ask my Doctor to put me on 2mg instead of one.

Then I would really check it though a ct & see if it is a hernia
If so have it removed. Many people get acid reflux & need to be on OTC meds to control
Good Luck!!

Yeah i have this same problem. What helps is NOT going on the internet and searching for answers, as you'll never find any true comfort with yourself. Taking a nice, warm shower and taking deep, controlled breaths can help A LOT! Lately I've been having strange "sharp" pains all over my body, and lightheadedness, the only thing keeping me in check from not having a panic attack is staying off the internet.
