Anxiety Symptoms that NEVER go away!

Posted , 9 users are following.

For the past 8 months I have weird symptoms.

Feeling of brain zap/shock

Inside tremors

Heart pauses I get lightheaded then it starts again (skipping)

Severe dry mouth

Sudden overwhelmed feeling of anxiousness

Having to yawn to get a deep breath or short of breath

Tired

Nauseated

Feeling like ears are stopped up

Dizziness

These can appear at anytime making it hard to plan anything. Driving and public places make it worse.

I take 1/4 of 25mg Ativan when it's bad. Some days I can manage without it, other days I take it every 3-4 hours. I also take a beta blocker. No SSRI as Zoloft made it Much worse, only took once.

Two trips to the ER and they told me it was anxiety/panic attacks. It's hard for me to accept because it feels more physical. I'm not depressed in fact my job and marriage couldn't be better.

It's awful. I feel like I'm at the mercy of anxiety and it rules my life. I've found doing nothing or relaxing makes it worse. Staying busy helps and does a bath with Epsom salt. This week the shortness of breath and dry mouth are nearly unbearable. One thing I've noticed is often in the morning I have this yellowish coating on my tounge. I'm wondering if a lot of this is Gastro related.

Strangely enough, just this week, I too have been experiencing dry mouth. Shortness of breath is commom to us all. I just stop and breath as deeply as I can a few times. Helps! It can be embarrassing on the phone.lol. Hang in there, Sabrina. Hugs

Unfortunately having axiety disorder can happen even to someone who is not depressed. Or going through stress. It just happens atleast for me it stared when I was 11. I was a energetic happy kid. How are you feeling now?

I have all these same symptoms and more! It's horrible and it comes whenever it wants! Yesterday I got in the car with my husband and two kids ( my turn to drive) to see family 8 hours away... I'm having fun laughing and talking all the sudden my heart skipped a beat... Had to like catch my breath and then all the sudden nausea feeing faint tingling in hands and lots of head pressure

I know the feeling. I can feel somewhat ok, never normal but fictional then in the link of an eye, I can't drive, I can't breath, I'm dizzy, you name it. It's hard to plan anything and it's so hard for me to accept all this is anxiety. Both trips to the ER resulted in them telling me it was panic attacks. But dang this attack has lasted nearly 8 months. I desperately want my old life back. The one that could juggle a million things, driven in my career, not afraid to travel.

First I want to ask, do you mean 25 mg of Ativan or 2.5mg?

This sounds like classic anxiety. I had all the same stuff. The gasping for breath could get embarrasing when talking on the phone.lol The very first thing i  would do if I were you is to find an anxiety therapist or counselor, or one who deals with anxiety regularly. The first relief you will get is when someone tells you what it is!!!

When you know what it is, you can take appropriate action. You actually can't relax until you get a name for what is scaring you to death, and that is what anxiety does, SCARE YOU.

You did well in reaching out, now take action. Be sure to let us know what you find out and we can help from there.

You will be okay. There are tens of thousands of people going through the same thing. You are not alone, my love, and you will be okay.wink

Hi Emma, I think you meant to send this to Sabrina. It can get confusing when replying and there are a lot of replies. I have do it a few times, too. Take care, Honey, Cia

Thank you for your reply. I am seeing a counselor. I've been twice and am learning coping skills and trying to identify triggers although it seems there are no triggers it just comes out of the blue as for the Ativan it's .5 mg. but I break it into a 4th because it makes me loopy if I take more than that at once

I was getting though so bad. It was like an electric shock. I'd also have internal tremors which lead me to a neurologist. I did have nerve damage on left side probably from scoliosis. But the MRI was fine, no MS which is what he suspected

Sounds like you are doing all the right things. I'm so very glad you have a counselor. I know about out of the blue, I just say oh, it's only a thought, not real, so shut up thought. might seem silly, but it works for me. I have seen that others here use that. Keep up the good work. Hugs

I'll try it. I love this sight but the pop up ads are awful and I get halfway thru typing at it won't go away. Any suggestions.

I have no idea what my computer guy did, but a couple of days ago, he sat down at my computer and blocked all ads. I haven't seen one anywhere since. It can be done. If you don't have a computer guy, try the geek squad at Best Buy. Good luck!
