Any advice welcome!

I've had PF for about 3 years now in both feet.

I've seen a podiatrist, physiotherapist and had a steroid injection.

I've just finished 5 weeks of shock wave therapy and my foot was MUCH better up until last week and I'm now in complete agony on my left foot. My job involves standing and moving a lot. I cannot stop crying because it's making me so down. Has anyone got an suggestions to stop the pain through the day so I can get through work. Thank you so much

Get plantar fasciitis gel-heel insoles, or gel heel pads.  But make sure it's gel.  And wear them whenever you're walking.  This will give good cushioning.  In addition you can wear fasciitis therapy wrap padded supports.  You can wear them with the insoles for even more cushioning.  You can get them all on-line.  Good luck!

You can use KT TAPE to releave some pain. It keeps everything tight and where it needs to be. Usually I can get a roll of tape to last roughly a month but lots of variables.. like how long the tape lasts 2-5 days depending on showers and the such. It definitely helps though. Good videos on YouTube show how to put it on. A second person is best but I do it myself.

Hi Emily, are you in the US or UK?

If you are in the UK I strongly suggest you ask your GP for a referal to your local MATS team - muscoskeltal assesment and treatment service.

They sent my husband for an MRI, which conclusively diagnosed his PF and refered him for proximal medial gastrocnemius release surgery (PMGR). 10 days post surgery, he was back to work with an 80% improvement in his pain - he is now 8 months post surgery

    Best of luck!

Than my you for your reply!

I'm Uk based. I've recently been and see someone from MATS and they have suggested surgery so fingers crossed!!! I'm so glad it worked for your husband. PF is a horrible thing! 😢

That's great news. A lot of people on this forum seem to throw shade at the idea of surgery, but I think in the USA the procedure they do is much more invasive, has a longer recovery time and lower success rate.

My husband had his procedure done on the NHS at Circle Hospital, Bath by a surgeon called Tristan Barton. It was 15 mins under local anesthetic! Amazing that such a minor procedure could take away all the pain he used to suffer

no way! we live in Bristol too smile He was given a choice of a few locations and we went for circle as it had the shortest wait time at the time. It's a bit difficult to get to but totally worth it.
