Any happy stories??? Sex?!

Anyone have any GOOD news?? I'd like a cheerful post. Like you have a loving partner/husband totally accepting. You can have amazing sex still and NOT get an outbreak. You can go out with friends and DRINK and not get an outbreak.

I'm mainly concerned with the sex. It's not on my mind NOW but it will be. I'm turning 33 in a couple weeks. Std for my birthday. Awesome. But I'm really in my prime I feel sexually and I haven't had much sex to begin with this year. Only two partners this year and one was a boyfriend I was with several months. The other guy was I thought going to be my next boyfriend or I wouldn't have slept with him. But I like sex and all I keep reading is that it's a trigger. The Valtrex doesn't help that????

If I was older I probably wouldn't care much about my sex life but I'm still young enough that if I settle down I want a healthy sexual relationship. 😳

I was diagnosed with HSV-2 in March whilst a few months into a very loving relationship and it hasn't changed our relationship one bit. I don't know who gave it to me it could have been dormant in me for years or we think most likely my boyfriend has it and has never noticed mild symptoms so passed it on to me. Either way he was extremely supportive about it all.

I'll admit I went through a really rough time during my first outbreak and as well as the pain and physical symptoms I was an emotional wreck crying all the time.

It 100% got better for me though we have a normal sex life and although I think I've had a couple of very very mild outbreaks it's been nowhere near the first one.

I know everyone's different but there definitely is hope of it all getting better and most days I don't even remember that I have it.

The only worry I have now is that we're starting to talk about trying for a baby in the next few months and I'm getting worried about how HSV will affect that for us xx

Doctors recommend taking antivirals and if the boyfriend is okay with great it won't affect

I think they do a c-section I've heard if you have this. They also treat you so you don't get an outbreak before delivery. I guess just take your vitamins and try not to worry! There are a lot of hormonal changes that take place as well during pregnancy but I think as long as you have support that's all that matters. ❤️

I got diagnosed with type 1 not too long ago. My outbreak lasted a week and 2 days. I'm a college student, so I drink on the weekends. I'm still on antivirals and haven't had any outbreaks again. I also just slept with the person who gave this to me a few days ago and it did not trigger anything. Still, haven't told him he gave this to me though and I know he did because after initial contact with him I had my first horrible outbreak 3 days afterward and before that I didn't have any sexual contact w anyone for 6 months or so.

Ooooo, last night I pushed the limits! Had a fresh coconut (fyi, coconut water is high in arginine, for those who believe in the diet connection), two strong alcoholic cocktails that went straight to my head (I'm more of a beer or single spirits kinda gal) and cigarettes (bad, I know), whilst still eating what I like, drinking copious amounts of caffeinated tea during the day and currently on my fourth crazy period in less than two months. No antiviral meds. Lmao, I feel like such a risk-taker! Jk :p Anyway, so far, so good, and hopefully it stays that way!!

Nothing really! Just letting my body deal with it naturally. Okay, I have admittedly started taking daily multivitamins, fish oils and occasional bee prop0lis, plus drinking a mixture of decaf herbal teas in the evening (which I used to do anyway, but I'm now selecting teas that are supposed to be good for GH; regular black tea during the day), but nothing too out of the ordinary. Just hoping and praying for the best!!
