Please please can anybody give any advise on good surgeons consultants in UK for RECTOCELE repair and animus?

Can't go on like this been suffering 16 years! After 6 years of trying to get the medical profession to listen!!

I'm desperate to get sorted and they don't want to know!

Anyone??

Any HEMMEROID info re permanent solutions that don't involve a scalpel!?? Would be fab too as they are now a legacy of my struggles sad

Thank you so much... I know there must be other women out there but we seem to get over looked and ignored. When these problems ruin your life!

Hello, I am recovering from a grade two recocele repair and a sling operation two weeks ago.  I am 62, average size and shape, retired RN, and birthed two babies.  Big ones.

I am doing better now, but a week ago, it was so bad that I wished I had not done this.  I still have tightness in the stitches at the floor of the posterior vaginal opening.  I pray this will get better with time.  Bowel movements are better... don't have to digitally push them out anymore, but still have to manage constipation

If you have questions, I'll try to answer.

Hi Sherry. Was the sling repair for stress incontinence?

I had a vaginal hysterectomy, sacrospinous fixation plus and anterior and posterior repair on May 4th, my ultimate decision for opting for surgery was the stress incontinence. I did have a rectocele, cystocele and uterine prolapse so it was needed.

I had a great initial recovery, I was amazed at how little pain I was in, how mobile I was and had such high hopes. Now, I am terrified the surgery hasn't actually worked, I feel no benefit so far. I am still terrified of leaks, have a constant pressure in my bottom and having been so strict with not lifting, carrying anything at all heavy and only walking, gently swimming and flat cycle rides am feeling very disappointed. I will be seeing my granddaughter next week, she's a dinky sixteen month old, and I can't even lift or hold her.

I'm seeing my consultant on September 23rd, at the moment I just wish I'd not had the surgery. ??😪

Hi there ta for replying. Sounds like a great outcome... How come they didn't go THRO the vagina and rather THRO the RECTUM is this what you mean by posterior? Can I ask who surgeon/hospital was?

A posterior repair is surgery for a rectocele, a prolapse of the posterior wall of the vagina. For me it was repaired vaginally, as was the cystocele,  a prolapse of the anterior wall of the vagina.

Hi yes vaginal as it's a rectocele I had . I think if you have rectal prolapse they go through your rear end .

I had it done at Leigh infirmary in Wigan under dr Jenny Davies she specialised in urogynecology x

      Hi Skip

Nearly a year now, May 4th last year!

The prolapse repairs, rectocele and cystocele are all fine, as is the healing following the vaginal hysterectomy.

I still have slight leaking when exercising, but this is not because the surgery failed. I am seeing a physio and doing pelvic floor exercises, hoping this may help. I’m reluctant to have further surgery, a sling, for example, there is no guarantee it’d help.

We are all so different, it’s hard to compare notes, but I hope you are getting some answers.

My consultant is Dr Ami Shukla, a Google search will find her.

Sheila I am MEGA HAPPY you are doing SOOOOOOO well!! That's brilliant. It's so nice as well to be able to be in contact with others who have been through all this stuffsmile you have done amazing.... Thank you Dr info. My contact with site is intermittent as I have EYE problems and difficult STARING at phone (don't have a computer...). Don't think non sufferers realize what an ordeal this stuff is. This is definitely (as tried several ... ) the best site I've used. Am off sick at moment so catching up with things. It makes me feel happy to know others managed to be well and more positive for myself so I thank you immensely for replying. I no no one personally with these issues unless they just don't say!! I want the RECTO FIXED but being told I can't right now as it's been caused by the ANISMUS... FINALLY after 6.5 years am going to HOSP on 18th April for botox operation into the PUBORECTALIS muscle to relax it. There no certainties and it's not a "cure" more a helper but it's a start smilesmile not had OWT positive to post til now. They just been telling me NOWT WRONG ... Lovely to hear from you and I'm very happy you kept so well winksmilex
