anyone been diagnoised with bleptaritus

its a dry skin condition that effects your eyes they are itchy and puffy and your eyelids become sore and cracked it just seems that i keep getting different skin conditions and this is another that you never really get rid of

ouch...that sounds very uncomfortable indeed.    It is strange that the symptoms...dry skin, itch...cracked skin....does sound a lot like the LS symptoms.  It would be nice if some Dr. discovered what on earth is going on internally to cause this condition that affects top to bottom.  Ever since I was little, I have gotten smallish patches of dry skin on arms or legs...sometimes around hairline.  Never thought anything of it...it was just a dry patch....I do not think it is psoriasis....but don't really know.  Because the patches were only once in a while and never spread, I just didn't think anything of it, and neither did my mom I guess, or she would have taken me to a Dr.   I still get those patches and they seem to pop up just at any odd time and go away after a few weeks or so.  I also have had the LS for many years....at least 20 or even longer....again, without any thought at all until two yrs ago had to go to the Dr. with what she and I both thought was a terrible, terrible case of yeast infection...that's when I was sent to an ob/gyn for a biopsy and found out it was LS.  Before that, the whitish patches were called Leukoplakia, a pre-cancerous condition that really got no attention at all.  By the time I had that horrible "yeast infection"...I guess the LS had become established and was starting to cause problems.  Why am I rambling on here?  Sorry.  I only meant to comment on y our eye condition, then realized there are other things we have in common....anyway, I hope you get the proper treatment.  If  you find anything that helps, like certain food makes it worse or better, let us know.  This forum is so wonderful.  I have learned so much here.

thanks patricia for replying it just seems that skin conditions seem to be cropping up with me a lot since being diagnoised with LS the ecema always seems to come when im stressed the first time i got it was when my mum was very ill on both palms of my hands this was little blisters that became infected it just seems weird that these skin complaints have similarities where they all itch like mad and you end up using steroid creams to combat the itch.when i was younger had lovely skin never a problem might be age related i too seem to be going on once again thanks it does you good to share sometimes

It does help to communicate with someone who understands, right?  My husband used to get those awful itchy blisters on the palms of his hands when he ate peanuts!  Those blisters drove him crazy with itch... sometimes all he had to do was eat something in a restaurant that had been cooked in peanut oil.  That problem seems to have pretty much gone away over the past few years, tho.  He can eat peanuts, which he sometimes does, and he doesn't get any blisters, or just such a few he is OK.  He is 60 now.    As far as those odd patches I still get, I never could find a common cause.  I have a very bland diet, pretty much only because I do not like spicy or hot food, so it's only personal preference.  I don't drink (don't like the taste of any alcohol) have never smoked, do not drink soda pop, leaded or unleaded (diet)....so I don't know if I am causing my own problems, I don't know how.  sigh

my daughter told me mine was nervous ecema ive had it quite a few times and it always seems to break out in two places for example on both palms or both feet in same place on each plm or foot i have fucibet cream which relieves it sorry meant doctor

my doctor told me to bathe my eyes everyday with a flannel in hot water with a tiny drop of baby shampoo but this seems to irritate more thou my Ls seems to flare up a lot the dermovate seems to help and is somewhere that cant be seen but at the moment i look like i have great big bags and bloody eyelids but the point was is this another skin complaint since getting LS or am i being paranoid

thanks for replying wendy i have only just been diagnoised with this complaint and yes i think you have spelled it correct im gonna see how i go on the next couple of week with it my doctor prescribed diprobase ointment i think we just have to persevere .like the LS just learn to live with it its strange that once you have LS other skin problems occur anyway good luck to you too

hi hanny dont have a bath only shower do you think if i put some baking soda in a sink of water and swilled my face with it it would help

this may be a nutty question...and probably everyone else understands...sigh....but, Hanny, do you put the baking soda spray on your eyes??

I think that will help.  I do a bath every other day.  The days I don't, I fill the sink with warm water and add some baking soda for washing face and arms. And of course I keep the spray bottle with baking soda and warm water on hand for the bottom.  Afterwards I cover the bottom area with coconut oil.  It works this far.  

I just read somewhere else that someone is soaking gause in baking soda water and puts that on the area in need of this treatment. Same thing.  

Not a nutty question and my writing may have been confusing.  Sorry.  I just told Jane what I do. Basin with baking soda water and richly wet washcloth.
