hi winifred this first happened with me whilst on holiday in fuerteventura my sister thought i'd burn't my eyes.she rushed out and bought me expensive sunglasses and eye drops.it then seemed to get better so i thought she was right.then about a month ago my eyes started matting when i got up in a morning i then thought it might be my moisturiser.anyway i eventually went to doctors for LS check and while i was there i asked her to look at my eyes has well and she said it was blepharitus .the lids of your eyes become very dry and itchy and your eyes do water mine are very dry underneath and look like i've got wrinkled bags under them i keep using the ointment and hope they will get better its worth getting checked out so goodluck

Hi Jane , l certainly will check this out especially as l have quite a history with my eyes . My eyelids are dark l always thought it was a result of eye shadow being put on over a lot of .years. l put tear drops in my eyes mostly on winter l do think central heating does not help. I do hope your eyes improve with treatment , at least you know what the problem is now . Take care x

Hi Jane,  This is wierd.  I had Blephritis as a child.  Now I have LS which I am certain I had when I was in my 20's if not before.  My eyelids used to scale, crack and bleed.  I could peel lots of dry skin off, which left my eye lids so red and sore.  When I started to wear makeup as a teenager I started to cover this with eye makeup which I removed with vaseline and other non perfumed oily based eyemakeup removers.  The reason I tell you all this was that the Blephritis disappeared when I started oiling my eyes regularly.  Once gone it never came back.  I hope this could help you.

I have been using baby oil as an eye make-up remover for over 50 years!  Great stuff but I still get itchy lids which resultin weeping eyes.   Cannot use anything else as I seem to get allergic reactions!!
