Hi all,

Advice please.  Last night I suddely developed excruciating pain at the site of my laparoscopy.  Earlier that evening I did carry a heavy bag of shopping but not for a long distance and am wondering if this is connected or should I be worried as it is now four weeks post surgery.

Hi.. hope u don't me asking how your feeling now.

I had my right ovary removed and tube due to a large dermatoid cyst in June 2013. Few weeks after surgery I started getting really bad pains in groin and hip on right side. Unfortunately it kept getting worse and yes doing physical stuff can make it more sore.

The gybe doc thought it maybe endometriosis so I was put on hormone injection but due to reaction and it not working it was stopped. Pain kept getting worse and then they decided to do exploratory surgery 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately said i has few small adeshions but it wouldn't be causing my pain. So am now going to see a consultant in pain management. I have had to change my job to part time and I have slowly started putting weight on cause I struggle to do exercise like I used to as makes pain worse. Best thing is swimming but even then I can be in bad pain for days after.

I struggle with sleeping and have to push something inside my tummy to help.

Don't want to worry u all cause am probably just one in a million with something not getting better. But I really wanted to know how you are feeling now and if you are slowly getting better and recovering. Which hope you are.

Just really wanted some advice after reading you chat.

Any tip on stuff that helped you...at min am 4 weeks post operation (where they went exploring) so am obviously sore but that won't change much cause they didn't do anything..just my belly button very sore in that area which I know will go xxxxx

      Hiya,

Not at all - hope that I can be of some help.

I'm so sorry to hear that you are experiencing pain as it just gets so depressing when its ongoing.

I found that lying in one position with a hot water bottle helped.  Walking upstairs was agony and it doesn't help that myself and my fiancé live on the top floor in a building which doesn't contain a lift!! Avoid carrying heavy bags of shopping if you can as that did exacerbate things for me.  Avoid wearing jeans for a while and if possible try to avoid bending and stooping.

Short walks as perhaps the swimming might be too much on your stomach muscles.  Having said that I remember that I used be exhausted after a short walk and used to rest on the sofa.

I'm sorry that I can't be of more help to you but all that I can say is try not to do too much too soon.  If you feel that you have done too much, then its time to relax.

      Look after yourself.
