anyone else having tech probs?

I'm voting but the heart shape doesn't record it...tho it darkens shows 1...but then goes back to zero after posting...but remains vivid in colour.

also inspite of waiting for the cursor to appear ...which it does eventually...I almost always have to press 'send'..and must await the message 'you must enter some text' before i can do so.

anyone else having either of these probs? or others?

    Maybe it is your computer?

Are you voting for patient.ci.uk or the person posting.

Yes it does take time sometimes but I just go on to the next email and it still goes through. Don't worry xxxx

No, a bit slow and hangs sometimes. Recently I have rescued my efforts on my iPad by scrolling up so the new text leaves the screen and when I scroll back the cursor is working.

thanks george...well this reply is working...so thats good!

I have issues too, but often turn off my computer and restart and it seems to help things, like things get hung  up and slow too.   then there is the modertion thing....

so not brill but you don't have to go thro the ritual of waiting for the cursor and the apple...then the writing entered is light grey and you have to press reply and allow for the rigmarole of awaiting the announcement that you must enter some text...whereafter it then works as the words 'enter text'  disappear....and then you can write ?  Without your initial effort then disappearing?

      Phew! Anyone else had that?

      Great opportunity to practise patience!!

That happens to me, but only if I stay on a page too long.

This is what I do to get around it... it is a bit laborious though. I type out my question, answer or message in Word. Then Copy it, Save it (just in case if I need to restart). Then come back to the main message and copy my Word document paste it back into the message window!

Some of the errors are down to traffic at peak times, not necessarily people, but like the error suzanne00 mentioned Internal Server Error, there is normally a number after this error normally beginning with '5'. Basically, the server is running on high resources due to traffic.

Some errors are caused by Javascript being disabled, if this happens then any code using Javascript or jQuery will not run, hence more errors, but client-side, not server based.

      Regards,

      Les.

THANKS EVERYONE. NOT ENOUGH TO NOTIFY ALAN? OR SHALL I ?

      Hi Les,

Thanks for the reply. I also try to remember to copy before pressing send, just in case there is a glitch--too painful to write a long message, only to have it disappear, or go to moderation because I forgot to screen out a name. I just press copy on my computer after bluing the text though, rather than using a Word document, though both will work. Also a question: when you say that the internal server message is due to high traffic on the server, do you mean my browser, the UK server, or the website? I guess that I'm not sure exactly what the server is.  Thanks.  --Suzanne

      Hi Suzanne00,

Actually, it means various things, unless you know how to use servers, you wouldn't know what the terms mean, but I will gladly tell you.

The server is what the website is held on, with this website it is in Ireland, yes it does say UK at the end, but that is where it was registered. You can host a website in the USA and still have a UK address, most of the time its the prices on server costs.

High Traffic = If there is a lot of people on the site at the same time it causes the site to slow down, which in turn causes errors.

But at the moment with all the issues in the current news, sites are also being attacked by what is known as "bot's" - these can take sites offline, and hackers use them. Many people do not even know if their computers are even infected. There is even intelligent viruses now that change their names before being detected by Anti-virus programs, the chances of removing these are slim.

      Regards,

      Les.

      Hi Les

Those viruses that change their own names. Sounds very like cancers. They change their own DNA leading to changes in treatment to resume killing or slowing them down.

I'm not happy with my Doctor at the moment. I went to see her, and because I cannot go up stairs, she said we'll have to use a downstairs examination room. I thought fine.

But after that she forgot to put my repeat prescription through - had to chase it up, then found she had sent me to the phamarcy with a womans prescription!!!

She booked me in for the 3 Ultra-violet scans.

She booked me in for 4 blood tests to be done last monday!

Well, I turned up last Monday for the Blood tests, all computers were down, could make another until their systems are backup.

Oh, and my wife was given the wrong prescription for herself, it was for some other guy.

Doctors arfe useless sometimes, and I'm on a trial Personal Care Plan, from the gov't.

      Regards,

      Les.

Thanks for the info, Les!  Speaking of bots, I had to take my computer in and have the hard drive completely erased and reloaded (selectively) a month or two ago because something had taken it over and was using a tremendous amount of space on my computer. It actually would awaken out of sleep and turn on with a high speed sound!  Wonder if that's what it was!

Yes Les, Sometimes they save your life. Other times they seem to try to clear you from their patient list - permanently / or, with extreme prejudice. I just hope I will always be well enough to oversee what goes on.

gosh les, suzanne and george...what challenges we all face! being annoyed by having to keep pressing 'reply' to await the instruction that i 'must enter some content' ....before i can actually do so ...seems minor by comparison.

suzanne ...you really got zapped there with something nasty....well done for fixing it!! any ideas what that might have been les?

les...that is distressing for you. how to address it? well i have a suggestion? how about a nice little postcard saying something like....hoping this finds you well....thanks for accomodating me...just to let you know of a few things that didn't go so well!! and make a joke out of it so that she will remember you in future...and get it right ...but out of affection for you!!!!!!? what do you think?

so glad you've got the really great GP  now georgey worgey that you were saying you've  found. so pleased for you about that!

the other odd thing i'm getting in my announcements from patient.uk is umlouts and accents....are they being diverted via france?!!!!!!!!

now ...internal error 500 ....groan! [cry]

      Hi Marey,

Do you know how to do a tracert? Basically, it maps out how you connect to the actual server in Ireland.

I had a bad last monday, because of waiting for the prescription I could feel my hip pain coming on. By the time, we got back to the bungalow I got out of the car, and my leg collapsed in, so I ended up bruising my leg, elbow and smacked my spine on my quad-stick. Typical Monday morning! And would you believe it the prescription is still wrong!! I need to re-book the blood tests, hopefully to coincide with the Ultra-sound (and no, I'm not pregnant! lol).

      Regards,

      Les.
