anyone else having tech probs?

Posted , 8 users are following.

I'm voting but the heart shape doesn't record it...tho it darkens shows 1...but then goes back to zero after posting...but remains vivid in colour.

also inspite of waiting for the cursor to appear ...which it does eventually...I almost always have to press 'send'..and must await the message 'you must enter some text' before i can do so.

anyone else having either of these probs? or others?

I kept getting a message recently when I pressed send after writing a text--it said error (internal server error), and when it finally went through after 3 or 4 attempts, I had numerous moderation messages (which are still on the thread even though my message was released).  Confusing!

ok that sounds similiar to me...except its working now....which is great and much appreciated.

maybe there is an auto cancel going on for duplicate messages...which you've come up against?

    • Posted

Perhpas it was the auto cancel, but I didn't think that I pressed send as many times as I received moderator messages.  Wondering why those weren't removed when the original message was released and my comment about the moderations was removed.

    Hi everyone,

We're currently looking into an issue that could cause an "internal server error" message to be displayed when you try to post a comment.

To answer the original post from marey - the problem you've described with the voting buttons could be connected. I'll keep you updated on this forum thread.

    Please bear with us.

    Kind regards, Greg

oh...thanks so much greg! lovely to hear from you!

how's your day been so far? busy with all these matters i guess...plus i'm getting accents inserted into the notices to me from patient.uk....not a big issue but i wondered whether you re-route via a foreign clime...to account for it...?  very odd!

that plus the voting button and not being able to enter a message until after pressing reply....and doing a circuit thro the response telling me i 'must enter some text'!! may be the complete list!!!!!!!!

thanks so much for your kind attention.

Accents and other strange characters are on our "bug" list - it's a problem with the character encoding. The other issues you mentioned may be linked to the original problem.

I'm assuming Greg's referring to the database table collation type or character encoding. I would say either way they would awhile to fix on a database of a forum this size!

And accents, etc are down to being parsed incorrectly. I used to know all about MySQL, PHP, etc. The amount of databases I have fixed it in the past is unreal. Not difficult, just running a few queries to bring it all back in line properly.

      Regards,

      Les.

I just received notice from patient....of your message....inspite of the fact that I had already seen your message in the forum.

does this mean that my messages could be being scrutinised by someone else and then re-routed on to me after a period of interception? Do you know Les? Or is that not your area?

I was unable to vote for your comment ...and still can not. The heart shape went red but no numeral escalation ...!

Once again I'm having to press reply ...in order for the 'enter text' command to disappear. 'You must enter some content' is then announced and I can respond.

Yes Mary. I have been getting more and more red 0 VOTES so I cannot vote if I chose. Today there seems to be even more than usual.

      Is this a new glitch?

      ?

      so me too

plus i have no little envelope beneath my name!

      new glitch?????????????

    • Posted

No glitch. None of us have a little envelope under our own name (i suppose). It is the recipient you want to fing a little envelop.

Actually, Marey has no little envelope under her name when I look, I think the gremlins must have nicked it!
    • Posted

Now Mrsmop that IS significant. Should we see the little envelope under everybody's name except our own?
    • Posted

and Mrsmop everyone on this discussion has except me (when I am looking correct) and Mary (incorrect) and Greg (intended?)

So there must be a setting that determines the display of the little envelope link.

      Marey is onto something.

If you look at your own account settings, you can enable/disable private messaging and marey has obviously disabled hers

Thank you Mrsmop, something new learned every day. I hope I remember. I need lots of reinforcement to get such useful things to stick in my memory. Some things best forgotten stick like leaches. Funny peculiar isn't it.

      Indeed George!!

Think of a batty old woman with a mop, then you'll remember!

Mmmm? Mrsmop, To often I can't remember the mnemonic. Other times I remember mnemoic but have forgotten how to decode it. This time mmmm perhaps, perhaps if I improve upon your suggestion . . . the sensible batty old women with the mop to clean the privacy settings.

      Super! thanks.

Now I need a mnemonic for inviting a friend. Each time I want to invite a friend I spend an hour or so wandering round looking for the one place it is offered. I remember it is on the right of a screen, but which one and how can I get there I just cannot recall.
