Hi everyone

I was just wondering if anyone else is having difficulty keeping warm even in the hot weather ?

I mentioned this to my GP and shge said it was down to the meds.More so co codamol. I have been off co codamol for a week now and even on the warmest of days I can't keep warm and I am some times so cold I am shivvering and have to have a thremal blanket and a hot water bottle to bring it under control again.

I took my  temperature with a digital thermometer and it reads

36.2 C and I feel like it is the middle of winter.even though thisafternoon it has been quite warm outside.

So I was just wondering anyone else like this ?

Think this is just one of those things, during the last hot spell I was sitting in jumpers and cardigans and my partner was stripping off and on 2 occassions I had the heating on..... it disappeared after a while and normality returned so I thought it was normal after the op. Hope this helps Gill xxx

      Hi Gillcat

I am 14 weeks post op this coming tuesday. I would have thought it would have stabalised by now unless the cause is the celulitus or the new meds they have given me. The new meds the GP gave me have also kicked off the leg jerks again after they stopped foir about 3 weeks. not happy because this makes my collapsed leg hurt more because I am not expecting it.sad

could be the cellulitis not quite gone or it could be the new meds side effects. I am only 8 weeks post op so yes I think your right and it you would be over what I first suggested. I've not had cellulitis so I'm not sure of anything about that t all. Sorry I can't be of more help. Have you checked the side effects of the pills your on? hope you have a not too bad an evening xxxx

      Hi Gillcat

Yes I have checked the side efects and the new morphine tablets are the cause of the leg jerks. But as for the temperiture. No they are not to blame. You could be right about the celulitus. Looks like because I was notlistened to in the early stages it has got a good hold of me and I still have a couple of red patches and some pretty bad swelling in oplaces. it is going but there are some very stubborn areas.

Hi Hailea ....  I do have flu-like sypmtoms, including shivering  - really thought I was coming down with a bad cold - apparenlty the meds (Celebrex) I am on has that as a possible side effect ...

    wishing you a good night

      Hi renee

Not had any of that type of medication. It has either been asperin which I stopped taking over a month ago at my surgeobns instruction, Co codamol which my GP has now stopped and given me just plain paracetamol. Oramorph or the new tablets which are called MST which are time releas morphine tablets. I have been having the chills and low temperature for a good while now. Just wish I could find out why. might get my GP on the phone on Monday just to be safe as after an extra 3days on the antibiotics all of the celulitus hasn't gone either.

Hope you sleep well reenee. hugs

      Hi Ian

I wasn't cold in hospital. But then I had my own blankets with me because I find the sheets in hospital uncomfortable and rough on the skin.

Good luck for next Thursday Ian. I bet you are looking forward to being pain free and able to work /  walk more freely.

I do not blame you for treating yourself with a new camera. I may do the same. I have a nikon D80 but I am thinking of an upgrade, but to what I have to think about it. I have quite a few lenses from macro ( my favorite ) to telescopic.

I look forward to you reporting back.

A few photos. First one is a macro of a red damsel fly second one is the sun coming up at 4 am over the brecon beacons last one is a red admiral butterfly.

      Good Morning renee.

Thank you for your kind words.

Nope my photography is just a hobby. I only have to take a few steps out the front or back door and I am in wild countryside. That is what I like about living in Wales. It is still green and pleasant & far away from the concrete jungles.
