Anyone have a solution to get rid of all the ads on this PMR forum?

Recently a discussion on this forum was about all the ads here and s couple people recommended using Ad Block. So I downloaded that and all the ads but one stopped appearing - it was wonderful!

I didn't like the large video ad that still appeared between the initial post and the responses but things were better.

And now today the ads are starting to appear again along the right hand side of my screen. My Ad Block says it's enabled.

Im hoping someone has a solution to get rid of these ads - they are so annoying and make it hard for my old eyes to read the forum information.

Sometimes clearing the search history and cookies will reduce the onslaught.

There was a time when a video would take the whole screen and essentially exit me from the website.

    Hi,

I can't comment on individual ad blockers but regarding ads generally:

We have to have ads to fund the site, see link below.

    https://patient.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/206971-why-do-you-have-adverts-on-your-site

There was an issue in the past with video ads at the bottom of pages causing problems. These have been removed and replaced with static "From the web" items.

The Sponsored Content will not appear for signed in users in the forums. As someone commented if you tick the "Remember me" box when signing in you will automatically be signed in every time you come to the forums but you do need to have cookies switched on for this to work.

While on a discussion page there should only be 3 ads apart from the bottom content banner. These are the ad at the top above the header, one small ad at the top of the right sidebar and one more larger ad in the sidebar. If anyone is getting any more than this or having major issues can you please send me a Private Message and I will ask for more information.

    Regards,

    Alan
