Red wine does have antioxidents, I feel that we have given up a lot with PMR, it is nice to be able to just enjoy a nice glass of red wine and feel normal again. This has come up before, there are a few who will castigagte you for this, but there are others, like me, who have been just fine. I think this is an individual case by case thing. If your blood work is fine and you feel fine, enjoy!!!

Whilst I recognize that red wine is supposedly better for you than white, I can't chill, ice or fizzy up red wine and it's hot here in CA, so that's the reason I go white and it goes further!

Our local wines in northern Italy are fairly light - and always served slightly chilled. Occasionally when there's been a run on the red at the pizzeria perhaps a tad TOO chilled as it was brought up from the cellar. We also drink it mixed with sparkling water though personally I prefer them in separate glasses...

I have the solution to your proble. Find Isobel Mondavi (Daughter of Robert) who produces a Cabinet Savignon Rosé which you will chill natually. It's fabo . Let me know!

I feel the same way about tea. It's supposed to interfere with calcium absorption and I was diagnosed with low bone mass. But why should I give up something I really enjoy when, as you say, our lives have become relatively restricted because of our health.

Cabernet Savignon Rose sounded exciting, but it looks like it's not available in Canada.
I'll keep looking. Guess I'll have to stick with the red and whites. I also try occasional rose and zinfandel, but haven't found any I truly love.

Anhaga - in that case I should have see-through bones! And the whole of theUK of my age would too!
Stuff it - people around here eat cheese and speck and other processed meats. The older generation can be seen with a glass of wine at 9am. They live to late 80s and 90s. This isn't Mediterranean Italy - but they live a long time!

Yes, we have some terriffic wines Eileen. Glad you made it your mission to drink only Canadian wines on your recent visit. I just find the roses a little to sweet for me. I can drink them like fruit juice!!

Actually you can also find reports that tea is GOOD for the bones! I think if we believed everything we'd all starve to death. Or die of boredom!

Oh I think it must be. It's a type of wine not a brand, so ask at your local liquor store, or a specialty store if you have one in your area.

Yes - a lot of roses are sweet over your way. I can't do Californian ones at all but our roses tend not to be so sweet.

I made a comment on another thread today about alcohol - I had to cut down on my glass of wine - now only a small glass at dinnertime maybe 2/3 times a week - what a shame when you can't enjoy a nice glass of red wine with a meal without worrying about the calories or acholic content!! I'm only at 1.5 mg as well.
