I have been taking it for 10 yrs now and all I can say is that it has changed my life and there is no way I would stop taking it.

As for long term side effects. I recently had an endscopy and everything inside looked  good and showed the healing benefits which PPis give you.

I take mine once a day 30mins before food, so the only issue is breakfast.

The problem with acid is that can be damaging you and you don't know. That is why i take my medication daily.

Hi That's good to hear, yes I find the tablets work great too, if I miss a tablet to try to try to have a break from them I soon have the symptoms and have to take one .

I've got a hiatus hernia which causes the reflux. I've also got underlying barretts although my biopsies were clear, so confused with that. Acid reflux is an awful thing!

My GP said that you shouldn't take a PPI for more than 8 weeks without being checked by a consultant. I had an endscopy done to confirm I needed the PPI and also confirm that I had acid reflux.

I definitely wouldn't take a PPI long term without confirmation I needed it from a consultant

Hi Julie. I was diagnosed with barretts oesophagus in 2014 and have been on these since then. I take twice daily so 60mg in total. I never really suffered with acid reflux so was a bit of a shock. I also suffer with diverticular disease so these are supposedly ok for that too.

yes i do take and im going back to my gp to ask if i can up from 30mg to 60mg as i feel that 60mg would sit me better and help it and i do have ibs and i have mead's for my ibs as well so if you have ibs go back to your gp and ask for mead's for ibs as the ibs mead's do work
