Baby shampoo for blepharitis no thanks!

I started using a solution of a very small amount of baby shampoo in a solution of hand hot water, it made my eyes red and sore, it stang, and they itch and felt inflamed, it was no use and I am obviously not suited to it, so reluctantly, as they don't work very well, gone back to wet ones, but at least they don't make my eyes flare up like the shampoo did, and the shampoo did NOT help one iota, sorry folks, once bitten twice shy, desparate now as nothing, nothing makes this dreadful complaint go away and my eyes are weepy and sore ALL the time!

Hi Fiona,  I used to use baby shampoo and found it stung my eyes.  I now use bicarbonate of soda which you can get  from a chemist or supermarket.  About quarter to half teaspoon dissolved in beaker of cooled boiled water.  It for me is much kinder on the eyes.  It might work for you, you could give it a try.  I did try blephasol but found that  it's ok for  lids but got some in my eye and did sting.

So don't use it much.  Also do you hot compresses as someone pointed out that might help and massage eyelids to unblock oil glands if this applies to you.  Have you been given a cleaning regime by gp or opthalmologist.  Anyway good luck let me know how it goes.
