Bad 12 month relapse! Will I ever get better :(

So its coming up 12 months since my first diagnoses of glandular fever and if im honest the first 8 months were absolute hell. I was literally bed bound and unable to work. I also caught a stomach infection on top of this awful virus and have lost nearly two stone in weight in the past year. Things slowly started to improve around the 9 month mark, where i was having a few good days and a few bad and the odd bad relapse here and there. I started working again as i felt about 80% and if im honest, I needed the money after being unable to work for 8 months. However, recently im having the worst relapses! i'm getting ill all the time again and I cant describe the fatigue/fever and body aches, they are just awful! i'm only working part time and have eaten super healthy & rested when necessary since my diagnosis. I'm just so sick of being sick now and missing out on so much! I just want to be a normal 23 year old 😦

Hi Jess,im almost 2 years into this now and am ill in bed again with my 5th relapse, its the worst illness i have ever encountered!! i really thought i had seen the last of this virus as i had just started improving a bit but not like i was pre virus, but sadly 7 weeks ago my only sibling,my brother passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly and left me heartbroken and in shock,so im thinking maybe that has something to do with this latest relapse, the fatigue is horrendous and muscle aches,no appetite, just yuk,all the old symptoms just hit out of the blue and floored me,i know how you feel.sick of being sick, dosent seem to be any let up, its so soul destroying and feels like we are never going to be right,so frustrating as i was so sure i had seen the last of it and then it goes and rears its ugly head again, hope things improve for us all very soon

Hi Jess,
The same thing happened to me, I did eventually recover and the second year is up and down but you will not feel as you did the first year. My daughter has been drinking nettle tea and this has helped her.

Thanks for the advice Mono too that the nettle tea has been helpful for your daughter, it's great when people post about things that have helped them and give folks ideas of things they can try when going through this awful virus. I do hope you are doing well at the moment.
