Hey all,
A little explanation of how it started. About a year ago, I got very frisky with a lady friend. We were fully clothes and apparently chaffed the head of my penis. We didn't end up doing anything that night because of the pain. Fast forward 1 week, and it became swollen and the glans were purplish. I went to see the my PSP twice. We tried every over the counter anti-fungal out there. Nothing worked. He sent me to see a dermatologist. While i was waiting to see the derm. I came across a forum with someone saying to use peroxide...I rinsed with peroxide and to my amazement, a milky white substance started coming off my penis under the foreskin. I continued this for a few days and it seemed like it ws getting better. I stopped the peroxide rinse but continues to clean it 3-4 times a day with ONLY WATER. It came back but not as bad as the first time, however...it's itchier this time. So, I went back to the derm...they told me there was nothing they could do, and that I just have to live with it. My body must have undergone a change and now produces more smegma. I was furious....I looked at him and said, "So that's it? I have to go to my office bathroom every few hours and wash my dick in the sink...meanwhile i'm spending the rest of the day trying to scratch the head of my penis? You serious right now?" He replied, "You could try some powder."...Amazing. I walked out of the office right there. So, now I'm on my own...It produces so much smegma within hours...I had just read to try a head and shoulders rinse, started that Saturday....No improvement, In fct it made much redder. Please help me...I don't know what to do.

This message is for anyone who has been searching for answers for this, because it is terrible and from what Ive read every case is different. I went through the guantlet, every specialist you can think of. Biopsy and all. no one could give me an answer. I finally found out what it was for me and while this might not apply to you, maybe it does and Im hoping it gives someone an answer. Come to find out my condition was triggered by a pelvic floor condition, Apparently extreme anxiety made all the muscles in my pelvic floor constrict which led to balanitis and painful urination. I was tested for everything and had no infection of any kind, bacterial or fungal. I started physical therapy and anti-anxiety medications with anti-inflammatories and my condition is much more managable than it was... which explains why stressing about it was making it worse. I read these threads for months and Im sure more people like me will. I hope this helps someone. Best of luck.

I have the same issue for 2 months. earlier I had few years ago and when I took ketokonazole tablet or sulfamethoxzole it will go away in few weeks. but now its not going away. so I am trying out ayurvedic treatment like applying coconut oil, aloe vera real one, turmeric paste(from real turmeric root) to reduce the irritation.. also drinking yogurt drink and coconut water everyday..
but I dont see any discharge, its the redness and skin tightness..you are right dermatologists not helping just they call for followup visits to make their money..and make us do lot of expensive lab tests.. if anything helps curing it I will update here..

I'm also experiencing the same issue..
It started quite suddenly 2 yrs ago nearly and it didn't go on it's own. Had lots of build up like thrush. I then got a steroid cream from the docs which helped stop the itchiness and build up.
However since then I've been experiencing redness around the foreskin and around the glands under the foreskin. Sometimes it's itchy, sometimes theres strange sensations too. I've been given about 6 different strong creams from my doctor and also had a visit to Derma. They didn't seem worried in the slightest all he said was "I've seen much worse I don't see any issue, and that sometimes after Balanitis there is a scar or greyness left". But this is redness and skin tightness!
Definitely can't figure out whats going on. I'm certain it's some form of infection but I've been on anti-biotics and they didn't help. I've heard there are many different types of anti-botics though so maybe I needed a different type. Who knows!** If there are any specialists reading this, please give us some advice! Thank You!**

I will share my experience and I hope it help someone.
I was dealing with balanoposthitis for almost a year. I tried all kind of treatments my nothing worked. Last time I talked to my urologist he suggested me the circumcision. Since then I stopped the use of any kind of corticosteroid/steroids creams (It gives some relieve but only make the inflammation worse as soon as you stop using it). I've been improving my diet by reducing the sugar and taking at least one garlic clove in the morning (I put in the water in the night and in the morning I drink that water). I am eating, at least one per day, plain yogurt and drinking coffee with coconut oil. Finally I am using clotrimazole 3 times a day. I don't know which one of the 4 actions I am taking is responsible for the improvement of the infection, but in 3 days it is really better. I suggest you guys to try the same and hopefully it will work for you. Please share your experiences as soon as you try it. It is important to help those who haven't yet find some solution to it. Most people will forget about this forum as soon as they solve their problems regarding this, but let's think about each other pain.

A university in Brazil did a case study, showing a patient who was cured of balanoposthitis using primecrolimus for a month twice a day

He hadn't healed even after he had a postectomy and had used several ointments
