Agree with John, be very careful the last thing you need to do is dis-locate, if you can't bend don't push it, it does come with time.

At about 6 months I could pull my knees right up against chest, specialist Dr was horrified and said its not a good idea to be doing that too often as I demonstrated to him I was still had really flexible hip joints, always did have, and surgery made no difference.

I have always been able to bend like a rag doll at the hip joint, straight foward, and even in the week leading up to my hip surgery demonstrated that I could still do the fold up, Dr more than slightly shocked as the ball of hip was so badly damaged.

I have had one specialist Dr explain to me that I have a rare hip pelvis construction for a female, apparently only about 5% of the population have this, not a fault as such, just different.

Unusual little trick, as over many years standing up I have demonstrated it to others to open mouthed astonishment as I don't look anything like a gymnast or ballet dancer.

I have a mental image of them trying to dis-locate my hips in surgery and having great fun with my flexibility, wonder if it did cause them any problems, don't suppose I will ever know.

I'm coming up to 13 weeks po and still can't bend down far enough or bring my operated leg up high enough to be able to cut my own toe nails or to tie any shoe laces which is really frustrating.

Requested that hubby attempt to deal with the problem - that was a really bad idea and only let him do one foot.  Ended up having to go to a chiropodist to have toe nails, ingrowing toe nail, calluses and hard skin sorted out.

Oooh, what a relief afterwards - would thoroughly recommend.

Not yet !! I'm at almost 7 weeks, still hard tying shoes. I think it's about 6 weeks before you should push that 90 degree rule. Maybe you're more flexible than I am, everyone is different. Just don't push it, work up to it.
