Laxido/Movicol/Macrogel - all the same ingredients, just different brands, you need to take one a day every single day to keep things soft, and drink plenty of water. This stool softener absorbs fluid from your tissues and you need to drink a lot to even the balance. It's let my fissure heal up, was recomended by the colo rectal surgeon. Wish Id know about it years ago.

If you find pooping to much try 1 and a half - you can mix the both in the water stared leave on fridge and drink throughout day

Thanks Natasha...esp for reponding when you 're in work
I've got some codeine but have avoided as they're a constipater bit might give them a go when things are really bad
My problem being vegan is my diet is massively high fibre and before the fissure 3 bms a day was normal for me ...now my bowel seems really sensitive and it's 3 to 5 times a day
I'm not constipated but every time it's hell....and for hours afterwards which is why I'm hoping the softener helps
It's so weird discussing my bum with some one I haven't even met but its far too personal to discuss with most people I know...and the incontinence is a definite no no
It's really helped me not feeling so isolated ...thank you
I am so fortunate to have an amazingly supportive husband but I am trying to retain SOME dignity !!
