BIG throat!

Hi everyone!
Maybe I was speaking too soon about how well I did at the zoo! I have a really sore throat - I thinks its my ME
And if my sore throat wasnt bad enough I will have no voice left after screaming at AT
Anyone else get sore throats - especially when they have overdone things?

I have sore throats when I am tired. It's my throat that often starts first when I over do things, it's like a warning bell.

Gosh, Donna - it must be really quiet in your household! :peace:
I don't get sore throats (though that's how it started in the first place). My warning bells are heavy eyes (matchsticks needed!), pain - particularly shoulders, a sledgehammer crashing against my right eardrum and feeling generally wonky, cold and yukkkkkkkkkkkk!!
And that's how I feel today - just because I had a day out yesterday!! It's so frustrating.
If you've had a quiet (literally) day today, Donna, hopefully you will be okay tomorrow.
Just happened to watch a bit of 'Who Want to Be a Millionaire' and the last contestant suffered from ME - she looked the picture of health. Beautiful skin, shiny eyes and was able to answer QUESTIONS! OMG - no one is going to believe HER. I think she may be on again next week as well.
Take care everyone

I often feel cold especially when I go to bed or randomly throughout the day. My hubbie has asked for long johns cos I touch his warm legs in bed to get warm! Sorry Chimera but I havent gone off topic its true his legs provide a great source of heat! :D Then I still lay there shivering cold so I wrap myself in the duvet like a sausage roll! My hubbie goes mad becasue my teeth chatter AND there not false they are my own! I can often see goose pimples on my arms at any given time during the day. I have even had to invest in a special under garment that hides the fact I may be cold
So theres my lecture for today on the effects of feeling cold :P
Take cae and wrap up warm everyone

Painful lymph glands esp under arms and neck? Yes
Feeling cold? Yes
Sausage rolls? Yes
Oh how reassuring it is to me to read you all having these thing too. Perhaps one day soon I will stop thinking myself weird and accept it as part of my condition.
It would be so much easer if my husband was interested and understood, then I could stop trying to be normal and relax

I was reading my ME bible once again and found a section on how important mental and emotional rest is as well as physical rest. I find the mental fatigue and loss of concentration and memory, far more disabling than physical exhaustion.
I thought it would be a really good idea to ask my husband to read it as it described me (myself that is!) down to a tee. He's usually really sympathetic and understanding, but I definitely heard an audible sigh when I handed him the book - as if he was thinking, 'oh, not something else to read!'
Well, I very nearly hit him over the head with the damn book, but thought better of it as it is the only copy I have. :steam:
So I just won't bother to mention anything EVER again!

The way I see it is this:
To be normal you have to have feelings. To have feelings you have to experience the bad ones aswell as the good ones.
To experience the bad ones means we do indeed have feelings.
If we were able to go about our everyday lives as if nothing mattered - never took the time to worry, what state would this world be in?
So we have feelings and sometimes those feelings because of life's circumstances get to us. Isn't that normal?
Is it normal or abnormal to worry about an illness, a child, a family member, a friend, finances? Well of course it's normal to have feelings and of course it is normal that from time to time because we care about things and the people around us that we are going to become upset, under the weather.
Yes, our mental and emotional state does need time to rest and recover - anyone who can sail through life and not let things get to them from time to time aren't normal!
So if being like I am from time to time makes me abnormal - then so be it!
I'd rather be like I am than someone who doesn't care!
Are you with me on this lol.

understanding and comprehension just seem to go out of the window.
I think what we all actually mean is, and I think you have to be an ME sufferer to really understand this, - because our illness cannot actually be seen, and in many cases many folk have little understanding of it - we feel we just have to get on with everday things and try and appear as normal as we actually look.
If we had cancer, if we had MS, if we had MND, if we had Parkinson's (heaven forbid to all of these) we would not feel we continually have to justify our illness - we would be 'allowed' to be ill and it would be accepted by others without question. We are all so sick of having to explain ourselves - it's far easier to say nothing, and try and act normal.
Hope this makes sense - my brain is shutting down again!
