I have been off Bisoprolol a full year now, not on any other drugs.

The side effects of Bisoprolol are still getting progressively worst.

The worst symptom is such severe brain fog that my speech becomes slurred and my balance goes, can reflux cause this?

1.25, but I felt so ill on them that right away I was cutting the tablets in half. Took then for about 9 weeks then they found me in a state of near collapse at work, the nurse couldnt even detect my heartbeat, it was so low.

Hi again Meant to ask you if you were exposed to any chemicals in your working environment? Solvents, iso cyanates, or anything else?

All my life really. Back in the Navy we used to be enclosed in a helicopter cab with a 5 gallon can of trichloroethylene poured onto a rag for when we had to do a deep clean. In the air engineering department we had a vat that turned Tric to steam. As a mechanic used gallons of the stuff for cleaning engine parts. Maybe it made me susceptible to what beta blockers did?

Hi Peter It is probably the solvents that are responsible and the beta blockers exacerbating this. I suggest you get a referral to a Lung specialist and get some proper Lung function test done. Solvents increase the heart rate too.

There is the Royal Bromptom hospital in Fulham Road, London. Also consider seeking compensation from the Royal Navy. The dangers of solvents have been known for over 50 years.

Hi again Peter Have sent u a link to pulmonary tests. Also can you google Dangers of solvents in Industry or working with solvents. You have a strong case for suing the RN imho. I would ask for a referral to the Lung specialist then take it from there, if u google occupational health and Occupational Asthma and Lung disease for more info.Bradshaw sued the MOD for over £250,000 for damage caused by Toluene another solvent.

Hi Can u google Occupational Asthma? Have sent you a link by PM re the Dangers of Trichlorethylene. This as u know is a solvent used widely in Industry. It is also used as a dry cleaner.  I suggest contacting the Health and Safety Executive and also lawfirms that specialise in occupational conditions and negligence claims on a no win- no fee basis. ALao may consider looking up Occupational Health Physicians in London or in an Industry such as an Engineering firm. Also contact ICI who make solvents etc. .

One of the symptoms I got from Bisoprolol was breathlessness and no longer feeling my lungs working. I also noticed when I was connected to the Hospital machine, even awake, the alarm was constantly bleeping as my oxygen level was at 87%.

One of the things my nice cardiologist did was to arrange lung function tests to try and see why I was breathless. My lungs tested as being quite good.

As noting further was done, I bought my own quality oxyimeter and found that whilst some nights my oxygen average when asleep was 90 %, other nights it would spend half the night at 85%.

Thinking this oxygen deprivation might be what is causing such severe brain fog, I went to my GP with my read-outs, she arranged a sleep apnea clinic appointment. They just gave me a machine the same as mine to take home for the evening. That evening was on one of my better nights so when I went back the doctor said whilst it is low, they only worry when its down here, pointing to 85%, when I showed him my graphs that half the time it is down there, he said I probably had a sweaty finger and so wrote to my GP to tell her I was a hypochondriac

When I told my GP what had happened, she right away arranged a second opinion at a different sleep clinic.

However, just a couple of days ago I received a letter to say they don't think they can help me, which means they have seen what the previous sleep doctor wrote and have decided to believe him.

My personal belief is that it is another symptom of a disrupted autonomic nervous system,  the ANS has carbon dioxide and oxygen detectors that will get you to breathe harder in your sleep if your oxygen drops to low. My hope n0ow rests on my Autonomic Neurologist, but they are so slow.

I would only go down the compensation route if somebody in the medical profession told me exactly what it is that has caused this. As it is, they just fob me off constantly regarding my feeling well, let alone as a reason to sue somebody.

I know. I would seek legal advice because they are used to people being fobbed off like this, the solicitors employ independent drs. Have u tried the Brompton hospital?

No, I only get to go where the ambulance takes me or where I get referred to.
