Bisoprolol Side Effects

Hi All,

I’m wondering if anyone has had side effects frim Bisoprolol and could share what they were? 

Ive been on Bisoprol now for 12 months and have been suffering insomnia among other issues. My cardiologist and GP refuse to change medication, not believing  in Side effects and seem to think I’m on the right track with the right  medication after my Stent last January.  I differ and believe that I could have progressed much further with without insomnia. 

I’m just so frustrated now,  it has effected me for too long. Any comments or advice would be appreciated

    Is anyone here on or been on a statin? They cause awful side effects and are said by a lot of drs to be ineffective and that we need cholesterol Statins damage the nerves , the myelin sheaths and cause peripheral neuropathy.

    Hi Mardi I don't know if you are taking a statin or not. I just tried to send you a link to the side effects of Lipitor, avastatin etc but gone for moderation!!!!!!

      yes im on a statin. 

      low dosage of Rouvoustatin

    Does anyone know if beta blockers have to be tapered off or is it safe to just stop them abruptly?

      I don’t no but I took 2.5 today instead or 7.5 and I already felt more energetic!  I probably shouldn’t but can’t carry on feeling like this. And can’t get doctors appointment until next week

      I would check with either another dr or aa pharmacist. Be careful.x

      They have to be tapered off, even the instructions so say. But when your cardiologist wants you to have an EP study, or an ablation, he will tell you its fine to just completely stop taking them. Personally, I think the cardiologist is more concerned about getting his work done than your health, I stopped taking the half 1.25 I was on just like that as advised, and withing a few days ended up in A&E with sustained Ventricular Tachycardia, prior to this I had only had ventricular ectopics.

      Ok will keep this in mind. I feel perfectly fine today and been busy. I take mine first thing in the morning. I only suffer from cardiac arrhythmia no other problems. My heart scans tests etc all clear. I have no calcium which is apparently excellent so hopefully I’ll be ok dropping to 2.5. Seeing doctor Thursday but I’ve put in a erequest so may get a call beforehand x

      The fact uou feel better already is a sign 😊 that you will ferl better off them

      No need for apology, please consider stopping the hrt . It is contraindicated in cardiac issues and I am unable to understand any dr prescribing it for you.

      HRT contraindicated in heart conditions and also in blood clots, what are your drs thinking of!!!!!!!!!!

      I’m also at that age 😬 and yet to need intervention but I have heard these things about HRT. I really believe these days doctors just don’t care !  Honestly I was put on these pills a year ago and have had no check up since !!! They just give me constant repeats of these pills with no check ups

      Unm I do wonder about doctors and how kich scrutiny they give each patient, their situation and care and management of medications
