    Hiya,

The senekot is what I had, yoiu need a bowel movement the day before the op, and th the Pre Op drinks, are to aid recovery and healing aferwards, by giving your body energy to heal from the major op, and the starvation. The Pre Op drinks and IV will boost and replenish you, as you probably wont eat until the day after the op...everyone's healing, response and recoevery will be different. I thought I was prepared, but actually, it was not what I expected, so the best advice is, you will be ok, and that the rest, rest rest is key! The nurses /OT will help you get up and walking 24hrs later, and will probably give you blood thinning injections like I had, to avoid clots, they have it all under control...and by week three, you will notice a radical improvement, but the next phase to complete healing and activities will take a little longer..thinking of you all, and it will all go well..

Hi i had the same feeling last year when i had a viginal hysteretomy i had my operation on the 25th of November 2014 my Doc told me i had cells which can be cancerous with time plus i has a serious pelvis pain i was living on painkillers everywhere i went i carried tablets in my handbag... very worrying! Then one day i said to myself this has to stop cant live on the tab. I booked into hospital i was so scared but all i did was pray to God to guide me through. Had my op at about 3.10pm i kept praying in my heart even when i was in the theater. When i woke up all i felt was pain and morphine was not killing the pain till they gave me Diclofanic that is inserted into the rectum and...BINGO! the pain was gone in 15mins. After two days i could walk around slowly was dischared on the fourth day i was weak and spend the day sleeping at home after 3 days i could drive my car without any hassel and pain. I felt so good than before no pelvis pain i became normal again no tablets! Today i feel so much better more confident am on the 7th week in the next 3 weeks i will be ready for aerobics! please dont be scared i made it so can you! Goodluck! By the way am 40yrs the ovaries were not removed.
