Hi Shelly. I took over-the-counter black cohosh with soy isoflavones for a while (21st Century brand, USA), according to the directions ont he bottle. It seemed to me to take the edge off the hot flashes, although not completely eliminate them. Then I tried prescription HRT for a few months but then re-considered. So, I'll probably go back to the black cohosh w/soy isoflavones or maybe try red clover etc. I don't remember the details like how long it took to work, just that it seemed to improve (but not eliminate) my symptoms. So, for what it's worth... Good luck and please let us know how it goes.

I have been taking B complex&B12 combination+ sellenium. I must say I certainly got some energy back. Less tired than before. At least the cashing fatigue seem to have stopped.

I also take a menapause pill combines black cohosh abd st John's wort. But I am not sure if these really helps my mood. Everybody is different. You need to try and see what works best for you.

Hi Imagine, St John's wort helps with anxiety and heart palps. That's why I took it, and it worked for those specific symptoms. Fortunately, after taking it for about a month all my symptoms went away.

But, I also recall when I was on Black cohosh my doctor recommended I don't mix it with any other menopausal herbs so it can absorb into my system. Unfortunately, I tried black cohosh for 3 months and didn't work. So maybe don't mix your menopausal pill with St. John's wort.

Dear Sochima, thank you for your advice and information. It is all so confusing what's out there and what keep buying and trying in desperation. I don't know what to think really. Because the suppliment I take has the combination in one pill. And I am assuming it Ok. But who knows
