Bleeding and pelvic pain from boric acid vaginal suppositories

I was wondering if anyone has had any bleeding and pelvic pain from using boric acid vaginally? I thought i was getting a yeast infection and decided to start on the suppositories. On the third day i noticed a lot of pelvic discomfort and lots of bright red blood. I continued with one more day before the pain and blood were worrisome. So after the fourth day I discontinued using the boric acid and the bleeding stopped but my vulva was very irritated. It was very red, dry and it hurt on the right side of the entrance to my vagina. I did notice that I now have little things on my labia minora that appear to be vestibular papillomatosis. I've been in a relationship for nearly 13 years so I was extremely worried that my partner was unfaithful and I may have contracted an STD... honestly, I'm still a little worried. I will have STD testing done in a few days just so i know but I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience using boric acid? thanks so much!

    i have read some bad reviews online about the use of boric acid its actually a poison an has not been proven or trialed in the treatment for bv u should stop using it u may be doing more harm than good its not been proven to treat it just gets rid of the smell for a few days not a long term cure

      the vp is not an std its usually common if u have had a vaginal infection for a long time

      thank you for your reply. I really think the boric acid caused a lot of issues. I'm still going to get tested just to be safe. I'm so uncomfortable and it worries me and has me fearing for the worst

      u should be ok if u have stopped using it but ye get tested to be sure iv read online it can cause burns and stuff to the outside of the vagina i was going to try it but thought id look into it a bit further before giving it a try after everything i read online i decided just to go bck to the doctors and she gave me some cream to try instead had no side effects with that

    hi, I know this thread is a while ago but I have the exact syptoms from using boric acid. Have you figure out whether bleeding/pelvic pain is normal, did you continue to use it?

    how long did it take for your pelvic pains to stop ? im experiencing burning and pain in my ovaries i tried boric acid for 7 days it didnt work just left me in so much pain

    Some acids cause discomfort when using them, some cause more pain, but work better, and some do not hurt at all. You might feel abit of discomfort using the cream or gel acid, but the goodness outweighs the badness. I would refrain from sex until these spots are gone.

    Do be careful with boric acid, i do bleed when i use them, it used to not be much but recently its like a 1day period.

    But most important, DO NOT RECEIVE ORAL SEX WHEN YOU HAVE RECENTLY INSERTED ONE, even a day or two after. They are fatal when ingested. They could kill or make sick your partner, I have been taking these on and off for 2 years and i just found this out and i read alot of reviews and articles pertaining to boric acid and vaginal issues and have never came across this, and am scared, did everyone else know this and i missed it??

    Nevertheless, they help with my UTIs and i feel as long as im careful and bleeding doesn't get out of control, i will continue them on a maybe 2x week basis. If I dont ill have neverending uti and can't be with my husband.

    I have been bleeding and having abdominal pains for almost two mths. I went to the doctor and they gave me birth control pills to stop the bleeding but when i take the birth control pill late the bleeding starts back. Its has been heavy too smh im scared and dont know what to do. I wanted to have a second child but it doesnt look like its going to happen now after the suppositories.

      i think i have figured out how to get rid of this. (im not a doctor) but i had experinced bleeding and it freaked me out so i went to the doctor. i learned it is coming from my cervix. i didnt mention the boric acid because i didnt think it was harmful bc ive used it in the past so mant times. maybe its this bittle i have... the boric acid has to be irritating my cervix lining. the dr gave me an antibiotic for cervicitis because bleeding stopped. i didnt use any boric acid until yesterday and guess what. im bleeding again. so ask your doctor about this.

    I purchased the PH-D Brand Boric Acid Vag Suppositories (Purchased at Walgreens), use it one time. After 2 days I got a water discharge. I started wearing liners. Day 6, I notice a light pink discharge. Used a liner and on day 7 the discharged turned dark brown. It is day 7 and I am bleeding so heavy that I have to use stage 5 super-long pads. No STD because I have not been sexually active in over 3 years. I was using it for a yeast infection. Has this happened to anyone else?

      Its been very strange for me because the same pills you purchased are the same ones i have purchased too. I only used two pills within the 12 hours & everything seemed to be okay, after two days of not using the pills i began to bleed the same way you are, it started off as brownish red blood & now its like im on my period with my full flow & all, & its sorta reminding me of my period since i am getting the familiar cramping pain in my tummy & on my back. & the strangest thing of it all is that i just got off my period about a week ago, i have a regular monthly flow. Im very confused & very worried.

      it happened to me on Saturday. I used this in the morning and felt a slight pinch and a little cramping and didn't think anything of it at the time and by afternoon I had light spotting. By the next day i had a full blown period! and i don't really get them much anymore and when i do they are pretty light. I am using a menstrual cup AND pads. Hopefully it goes away in the next day or so.
