bleeding in perimeno

i was wondering if anyone going through or gone through meno has suffered with long bleeding periods 

as iv been having a light bleed now for five months I only had a gap of under two weeks then it started again.

iv been havei g some tests done like just had a hysteroscopy now waiting for results from that. im worried iv got cancer of the uterus but im hoping its still meno problems that some suffer with.

and if anyone else has sufferd like this did menopouse then begine soon after. its such a worry i cant sleep.

    Sorry if this sounds harsh, but why would you wait 5 months to be seen? I worked as a nurse in ob/gyn, and it just seems like some of you women lose all common sense when it comes to bleeding. I bled for about 2 weeks and I was calling my gyne who did a D & C when I was still lightly bleeding into 21 days. I went through all the wild 74 some odd symptoms but never losing sight of common sense things like bleeding for long periods of time. Ladies if you are bleeing for more than 3 weeks call your gyne, because even lightly bleeding can cause anemia. Hope this doesn't offend anyone but please use common sense.

      hi i first went to my dr when id been bleeding a few weeks and he wasnt consernd told me to come back if it didnt get any better so then went back in april and he did bloods then two weeks after that he said they came back normal then i said well still bleeding so then made apointment with nurse for smear then that brought me to may to have that done then waited for results then rang dr and over phone dr told receptionist slight infection but il be ok. but i was still bleeding so made another apointment to see gp  gosh then the next go as i have about six different ones were i go and another dr said its becouse of the infection so gave me antibiotic cream to insert for a week. didnt stop bleeding dr offerd me progesterone couldnt take it as i was having a major op end of june for a tumor behind my eardrum. then spent time tring to get over that ended up with bad infection in agony with that. then went back dr got a scan done then had to ring up for results of that then dr finaly sent me to gyno and then last week had the hysteroscopy. so i was on the ball straight off it was the drs who was being slow and didnt seem botherd, im a wreck with worry and have been since march so if i do have cancer il not be pleased at all and will change drs asi think its totaly wrong that they ruled out everything else befor sending me to hospital. plus im in uk so if you want to see a dr takes about two weeks to get a flipin apointment! so wrong. i just feel like no one cares i should have changed drs as last year i was havi g problems for a wile and one dr gave me hrt even thoe my bloods were ok. i didnt take it as i felt i didnt want to take something if i felt ok well i wasnt bleeding like this just had low mood and was real dry down below to the point of sore. but then it stoped and went back to normal then my periods changed to only light for around three or four days were as always they were heavy so i wasnt concend any longer then feb no period then march this. i just asumed ups and downs were prob start of meno but new all the bleeding spotting wasnt normal and kept telling my dr.im 47 so im asuming its because of meno comeing soon.

      I see, well keep us posted. I don't perceive you having cancer, maybe what you need is a D & C. Let's hope for the best

    Yes always best to check it out but as I was entering peri I had continuous spotting which seemed to last for ages, I believed it was peri but I still had it checked out x

    I went to the drs yesterday after having had a blood test to confirm whether or not I was actually starting the menopause,at the age of 51 I was convinced that I was. 

    The dr confirmed that yes I was and after a through examination to see whether I had any mass at all as I have bleeding for a few months, but not like a period, just when wiping and filling the sanitary towel.

    But having had it confirmed it made me feel sad that I couldn't have any more children, and old but at least it was nothing to worry about, she mentioned HRT but I am really worried about cancer scares because I have heard you are at risk of getting cancer if you take HRT

      Hi Caroline, there are alternatives to taking HRT that are natural. Like all plant base oestrogel and utrogestan some women here take.

      The dr told me I hadn't got cancer luckily, I've had really heavy periods since I was 40 the drs always said it wasn't menopause

    Where do I buy these alterntives,are they at chemists or health shops? Are they safe?

    hi i have got pains in my sides feels like a stitch when you have been running its on both sides i hope its not conected to my bleeding and its not some bad sign. im worried sick. the pain is just there all the time. i was crying last night i just dont want to go to the gyno and be told i have cancer. even thoe it may not be at all. i. so convinced in my head now that i do have it iv read all the symptoms and iv got them.

      Chances of getting cancer are slim unless it runs in your family. With that said, people who have a predisposition of getting it, are up to date with their medical stats just in case. If the lasts more than a month or 2 then go see your doctor, otherwise, it's probably just a peri pain that will go away just as fast as it came.

      I'm really sorry you are having such a difficult time. My heart goes out to you. Anxiety is an awful thing and the waiting for appointments is so stressful.

      Try not to worry although that is easier said than done. Let me know how your appointment goes.

      It is better to find out if there are any problems early so that they can be successfully treated. Everything you detail does seem like perimenopause so I think everything be OK x

      ok my mom doed from cancer aged 47 i alo just had a tumor that was very rare removed from my inner ear behind ear drum called a glomus paraganglioma ok which dr didnt listen to me about for near three years ok so iv been going to see my dr about bleeding since march being fobed off with meno to infection ok im worried because of just having an op end of june and also bleeding for so long. and my mom dieing at my age that i am now ok iv got young children to look after and going from one op on a tumor to now this is a very upseting time right now. so being 47 and bleeding none stop and dr not caring for five months wile im a wreck and havi g another tumor removed is a worring time for me. i do t need this worry and hope i dont have cancer ok i realy realy hope im meno cant wait foe it to end. i do t care if i get every flipin symptom ok i just dont need the cancer worry right now iv been worrying for far to long already about another tumor had enough. just want to be well. i think when you have already had a tumor it makes you more aware and worry more about geti g cancer especialy when you have just had an op for a very rare tumor already

      d, sorry to hear this, I would start by finding a new doctor.  Unfortunately, every peri symptom can be scary. But eating healthy is key to staying away from cancer such as asparagus, okra and broccoli should be on your list of foods.

    hi i take antioxidents  i have detox baths and i drink super smoothies with super greens and lots of fruit.

    i dont eat meat and try to be healthy.

    i do t drink or smoke.

    but since havi g my twins eight years ago i havnt been as fit.

    got weight around my middle from being so big from twins that never went. im thin everywere else so its a pain. but i try to be fit.

    i did have a c section with twins and also bled real bad after as i had large hymatoma in muscle wall so got took back to theater with huge blood transfusion was i. hospital two weeks and was quite ill.

    when i had my scan otherweek the dr said my womb was very thin were my c section scar was with cysts there. but never saw any fybroids or anything just the thickend lining.

    i hope this is all meno althoe its a pain when its constant bleed. rather that than cancer. but il find out soon.

    but this pain in my sides isnt going yet so il have to mention it if i still have it when i go and it is a worry when its constantly there and now feels like its geti g worse, iv got it on both sides but now worse on left.

    i want to know if anyone else has sufferd a pain like this.

    the thing is if this is perimeno then why at the moment arnt i having anyother symptoms? no hot flushes  nothing else just this bleed.
