blephagel very effective for blepharitis

Since using blephagel on a regular basis for a couple of months, I have found it the only thing that works for me, it is a thick, medicated gel in a large tube you can get from your doctor, large tube so you get plenty of it so don't have to be sparing, and it works, as its good and thick in gel form where I always found drops, too thin, weak and watery to be effective whatever one I tried, lately I have only had to use my wonderful blephagel less than once a day in order to keep the dreadful redness, gunkiness, soreness, grittyness and swolleness at bay and can even wear my eyeliner, glittery eye shadow and mascara as I love to do on special occasions, as I am a performance poet and have to go LIVE onstage to recite my poetry to an audience, again, its invaluable, I can only suggest blepharitis sufferers try it, I had to use a lot and use frequent applications for about a month and then it seemed to really get on top of it, so I am delighted as there is nothing worse than climbing the walls with sore weepy eyes, is there?  Best wishes, Fiona

    Hi Fiona,

Sorry I know this thread if a few months old,

I was just wondering, I have been diagnosed with blepharitis but I don't really have any symptoms which is the weird thing like how other people seem to be having.

The only thing different about my eyes is actual red veins in the whites of my eye since I have been diagnosed. Did you have redness in your actual eye or just on your eyelids? I have blephagel do you think this would take the redness down? I am a little scared of trying things as I don't want to make my eyes bad as they seem OK but at the same time i want these visible vessels to dissapear!

Also my eyelashes seem to be misdirected and some pointing down

Hi Dank, I'm really not an expert or anything but I'm wondering if it might be best to see your doctor or eye specialist in case this is something other than blepharitis as some of the symptoms you describe I haven't personally cone across, so it may be best to seek the advise of a professional, sorry I can't be of more help

Hello, I have just recently been diagnosed with MGD and am now having to take drops 5 times a day. I am an actress and therefore need to wear make-up. I have started to use this gel, but am having to buy it myself. It is not cheap, so am interested that you are able to get it on prescription.

Hi Jane, as an NHS patient i get all my medicines under that umbrella however i mainly use the lacrilube ointment nowadays as i find it more effective than the gel.
