Blood in urine 3 months, frequent UTI’s .. not always!

Hi.
I’m 27 year old female. Past 3 months I’ve had blood in my urine, sometimes visible sometimes not, I’ve had frequent UTIs but not always, blood still showing on dip test though. GP have referred me to urology for a systoscopy. Was wondering if anyone else have had the same?

Good luck with your cystoscopy tommorow, I hope all goes well for you. Did GP send a urine sample for growth at the lab too? As mine come back fine but still I’ve been to doctors once a week for past 3 months and every tests shows blood. How long did you wait for the systoscopy after seeing the urologist? X

Wow sounds like something I would do. Where do u get the home testing? My GP also said she don't know where the blood is coming from. I also read that you can only be diagnosed with hematuria if your rbc is more than normal. It's all so confusing but the only way to get to the bottom of this is to do the complete work up. In my case its cysto and CT scan.

Ok I will have to look into it. I don't really have any other symptoms maybe just frequent urination but I have always had that due to blood pressure medicine I have been taking. I also have an overactive bladder. Do u have other symptoms. Looks like in another couple of hours I will b getting that cysto.

Good luck today Maria. Hope all goes really well for you. Pop a comment to let me know your okay once it’s over if your up to it. Will be thinking of you. I suffer with lower back pain. Unless I have a UTI then a frequent wee. Also have various other problems like a swollen tummy so I have to have a ultrasound again because I have had 2 erupted cysts on my ovaries 3.8. & doctor also sent stool sample off for swelling off tummy and it came back moderately high so I am also awaiting a appointment for gasteroinitlogist for possible IBD so have to have a colonoscopy too ;/ it’s all going on here!

Hi sharon. Not that I’m happy but I’m glad to find someone with same problems, I feel like I’m going crazy ! I am to sick off all these treatments and tests. I’ve also had ultrasound and internal twice before but now have to have another one to check everything in deep pelvis scan. I can’t hold wee for a very long time which have gone worse since previous scans so I dread this one I have it on the 10th! Yes I’ve had loads off blood tests over the last 3 months, doctors say all is fine, my b12 came back low, so I had a repeat blood but they say it’s fine now? Also they’ve done bloods twice for ovarian cancer which thankfully also came back fine 🙏🏻

My intravenous urogram and ultrasound is 5 April and then my cystoscope is 9 April........not sure where you live but in the UK I have been informed that you have to have the first test (even though had scan of my kidneys etc) before the cystoscope?
So so have you had the intravenous urogram? I have never been so stressed in all my life. I used to be a regular at the gym but this has just taken over my life 😔.
Have you still got blood in urine?

Oh Maria really feel your pain, they basically told me I just had to deal with the pain as it’s a natural thing. If they grew to be bigger than 5cm then they’d remove them, but luckily then erupted on their own which left me with contraction like pains shouting down too off my legs too. Glad ovarian biopsy came back fine for you 🙏🏻, I only had the blood test to detect the levels. Hopefully after today you can get some answers x

That is brilliant news for you - I bet you feel like celebrating 😀. Did he explain why you have microscopic blood in your urine?

I hope my results can boost your confidence that it will be fine. I have learned from all this research that our chances for getting bladder cancer is much lower than what u think. The good thing is u will see everything in the screen as he is doing it. They will show and explain everything there and then. I know how j feel I couldn't even sleep last night. But keep your head up and the faith. Did u have a CT scan? How long does it take for the results.

I went to A&E as couldn’t take the pain in my left side and they done the ct scan then. I had to wait 2 hours for the results but thankfully came back ok but think kidneys were just looked at and unsure if bladder was done on ct scan x

My scan says CT abdomen and pelvis so I assumed they looked at everything in that area. The cystoscopy would give you some answers perhaps or it can be something else. I sure hope u can some closure and relief. I'm wondering what did they really see on your scan. It seem like that test should have given them answers.

Hello dear. I just wanted to check in to see how your appointment went today. I had the CT scan and still waiting for results. Don't know why I am so nervous.

The ultrasound was a doddle but the X-ray was horrible. They injected a fluid through my veins and took X-rays every 5 mins as it passed through my body for 35 mins.
Wont know anything until my appointment on Monday which is D Day or C Day 😳 x

Ok. They also injected into my veins but had to stick the needle through my hands to get a vein. I felt tension on my hands for the rest of the day. They said the results would be ready the same day so it's all when my doctor decides to call me to relay the results. Last time he took a week just to give me blood test results smh. I'm sure all will go well with u on Monday.
