Blood in urine 3 months, frequent UTI’s .. not always!

Hi.

I’m 27 year old female. Past 3 months I’ve had blood in my urine, sometimes visible sometimes not, I’ve had frequent UTIs but not always, blood still showing on dip test though. GP have referred me to urology for a systoscopy. Was wondering if anyone else have had the same?

    I am having the same problems. I have all the symptoms of severe uti. Flank pain, tiny amounts of urine passing with painful spasms. I have a catheter as well. My only difference is swollen lower abdomen and right side is also swollen. I have had several bleeds. Yesterday i bled through my clothing. 3 nights ago i felt heaviness i open the catheter up into a leg bag it was just under a pint of blood. Very concerned. Is anyone having the same please?       Sounds awful Pammi. Really hope your okay, have you contacted the GPnor Hospital for that? Only symptoms I have is back pain and also swollen tummy, I look pregnant most off the time

      Hayley i read your message and I thought oh my days it was like looking in a mirror. Not being crude but my knicker sizes can be anything from 16 to 26 within hours. I have been like this for 4 months and the GP got a message from my husband and dad do something or we will take it further. She called me to go and see her and right on que she opened the catheter up and the blood went everywhere. She gt another dr and a nurse in immediately and he said to her get her an emergency appointment. I came home 2 days later urology said over the phone its probably cancer. Which sent me into spiral of fear. Anyway i been told that i am to go into a one stop clinic where i will go through a chat, scans and if they can work out a way a camera job. You see my urethra is strictured so thats a no go. Their camera is a size 18 but my catheter is only a 16. So not sure what they will do. Thinking i am an alien as i get black blood in my leg bag. The flank pain and abdominal pain is so bad they got me on morphine and codeine. I am having non stop periods as well. I wish you both the best of luck and hopefully solutions to what you are suffering. Thank you for answering.

      Oh sending you big hugs ❤️ I hope everything goes smoothly for you with best possible outcome. I understand what you mean by knicker size. I’m only small anyway but I was 8 stone 6 months ago, I’ve lost a whole stone but when I swell I fit perfectly into my size 8z I’ll see if I can attach a photo now. X

      You are so kind. Thankyou for the kind words. What a lovely size. I started at that size then upto 29 stone now down to 16 stone. Steriods put pay to my size 8. Hope they can help you to stop this spiral. X

      I hate being so small and me being ill all the time is starting to take its toll on me, I work 6 days a week aswell as look after my 2 children, I’ve eatig co codamols like smarties for the pain. Sometimes I wonder how I manage! Thankyou x

      I’m like that - constantly taking codiene. I was a regular gym goer before all this started and felt pretty fit but I have lost 5lb in last month and on my frame 5ft and 7st 4lb before all this started is not good. Living a nightmare x

      Same here. I was 8stone, size 6. 

      Now I’m 6stone12 with jeans hanging off my waist when I’m not swollen. 😏

      Hopefully we will get some answers soon. I would not wish this on my worst enemy! I’m a pessimist as my brother was killed when I was 16 and my mum passed away 6 years ago from a very short battle with lung cancer so always think the worst 😫

      Believe it or not I also think the worst. No matter how much research I did, I still kept thinking the worst. I lost both my grandparents, great aunt and close friend to cancer so I definitely had no faith. I know how u feel. I am hoping only the best for u and it will b fine.

    Hey friends I am at the urologist awaiting cystoscopy and I am nervous as hell shaking. Wish me luck!!!!

    Good luck both with your results ❤️ I also had my ultrasound yesterday, have to wait upto 2 weeks for my results and report, she seemed happy so I’m feeling positive xx

      Thanks Hayley. Finding blood in urine obviously must get different tests in different parts of the Country. I met a guy yesterday who was going through the same tests as me as blood found in his urine. I’m from the North East.

      Is an ultrasound the only test you will be getting? x

      Hi sharon, no I recently had cysts on my ovaries so I had a follow up ultrasound but they done a full bladder scan the same time as since the cysts I’ve been urinating blood for 3 months now, I have my first urology appointment May 1st then a cystoscopy xx

      Thanks Hayley. I'm glad u felt good about the test. I never saw the radiologist to ask him what he thought. They stay in a room in the back collecting all the pics from the machine. The machine slides back Nd forth giving instructions to breathe in and out. However the tech assistant was wonderful cheerful and made me feel comfortable. He did all the work. Hope we all get through this soon in best of health.

      Sorry you had to go through ovarian cysts but all looks good in that area and your bladder now for you ❤️.

      I am dreading Monday as will get the news but am preparing myself for the worst x
