Blood thinner injections

Has anyone had the tablet form of the blood thinners in the UK rather than the injections in the stomach after their THR?
If so could someone tell me the name of the drug?

asprin, my surgeon said they switched from the stomach shots because patients weren't doing them and that 2 asprin a day was just as good. but check with dr first! You may have a special condition needing the shots.

I am in Australia. I was in hospital for over a month with revisit of my 2nd hip replacement and it was quite a serious operation. I had injections every day during this stay but when I was sent home I was put on a tablet form blood thinner named Xarelto and had 10mg in morning only until I saw my surgeon for follow up a month later. Hopefully you may have this product in UK. I had no side affects.
All the best.

2nd THR, 15 months later, no arguments, I was given it as a matter of course, and I noticed other patients were been given the same drug so they must have had good results with lack of clots.

hi tech,
I had 6 weeks of self-injecting Fragmin and asked for pills after 2nd THR - Surgeon said NO ... something about trusting the effectiveness from injections more than tablets ... yighhhhh - another round of 6 weeks self- injecting --
hey, but you what , when it is all done .... it will be a distant (not too pleasant) memory
how are doing otherwise>
big warm hug

See my website 'medicines' page for a list - I had Rivaroxaban, the trade name is Xarelto, it works differently to warfarin and heparin.
