Blotchy red rash/irritated skin on penile head (lasted for over 3 moths now)?

Part of the skin on the head of my penis has become slightly red and is causing some pain/irritation.

It first appeared the day after I used a condom so I think I must have had a reaction to the latex or some other substance in the condom.

The tip of the penis became super sensitive and noticeably hurt whenever it touched my underwear.

The skin was and still is noticeably red close to and directly around the meatus. This redness gets worse and bigger after I've come out the shower or masturbated.

An hour or so after ejaculation, I get a slight burn/irritation at the very end of the urethra when I urinate and this can last for a few days before subsiding. This has put me off from masturbating as much now.

This has lasted for about 3 months now with no signs of improvement.

I saw a doctor and was prescribed timodine/hydrocortisone cream and this didn't have much effect and am slightly worried it may just make things worse so have stopped using it for now.

It almost seems as if the redness comes from within the skin rather than on the surface.

I don't think its balanitis as I haven't had that for over 12 years when I was a kid and that was with the usual smegma discharge etc, whereas this is just redness.

I've attached images to show how it looks straight after showering, which is when the redness is at its worst and the contrast between the normal skin colour and the redness can be clearly seen.

I suffer with this for 3 months then it goes away.

The head would go slightly red and have a vibrating sensation on the left side and found if I massaged it it subsided.

Burning would occur sometimes. No blood or anything....Just make sure to keep it extra clean. Use an emollent (E45 Wash cream) and do this 3 times a day and dry. Apply Canestan cream (The one that contains Hydrcortisone) Do this 3 times a day for 2 weeks.

    Avoid Sex!

All the symptoms above are just like mine.

It first occured 2016, it always stuck around for weeks then gradually went. All my tests have been negative.

It came back last year for a short spell then came back this year in January and it disappeared last month after using the cream and washing by routine. The itching stops then the burning and redness goes. Give it a try. Guys give up with the cream after a week and the problem still persists, it does work if you stick to it for a couple of weeks.

yeah so i did canesten two times a day for 5 weeks, and I don't really think it helped a lot, but there was improvement. The thing is that this problem got better overtime. For example, after mastrubating, my whole penis would flare up. Now, it doesn't flare up fully, but the rash keeps coming back every 2 months.

I still have a question for you. Did you have all of the symptoms, including: rad rash, purple bump on the opening of urethra, inflamed urethra after mastrubation/sex , or did you only get the rash?

canesten was the first thing i tried. at the time it cleaned the "stains" but in the year after the glans never stopped getting red spots and rashes, dry, wrinkled. canesten doesnt seem to do nothing anymore, maybe dry even more.

I'am going to post another pic, the other was in page 68. It changes a lot and this is the worse it usually goes. I have tried mometasone, canesten, hidratating cream.... and, somewhere near the prostate theres a burning sensation, Halibut helps that sensation. I feel I have some sort of inflamation/infection in all this zone, medics didnt care for the entire last year and now with covid i cant do nothing. I'am so nervous and sad.

Can anyone confirm if their are the same, at least at some point, (hsv? hpv?) I dont want to pay 120€ for someone to tell me to take urine and blood samples again.... I dont have insurance, this is hell.image

I hope you recognize something and we all can help eachother...

Yep, mine was the same. It was always super red and sensitive after a shower. I thought it was maybe the water was too hot, but even warm did the same.

What do you wash with ? Are you cut or uncut ? I always pulled my foreskin back when I wash it then back up again.....obviously with other stuff I use could irritate it.

There are 2 types of Canestan, one that contains Hydrocortisone and the regular one. I used the one that contained HC (for 1 week) this eliminated the inflammation and redness, then I used the regular one for 2 weeks, applying 3 times a day and washing with E45 emollient, this keeps it from drying out. I did that religiously. Always dry yourself before applying the creams. Wear lose underwear, not those tight things that squash everything.

Also, I tried the coconut oil, and that made it sore even more.

No joy sadly with Canesten my end. The pain right now my end is up a notch and get occasional pain in groin area which I don't believe lines up with Thrush. Have had two rounds of Doxy so left with no clues given I pass all the standard tests?

Ah...Yep tried Doxy, and even Trimovate cream...nothing.

Let us know what your next step is.

I truly believe it's not a 'skin' problem and that problem occurs from within.

it is from within, if you have nothing in the tests and it sticks for months, years, its likely HPV, not 16,18, but some other I dont know yet...
