Pillows- I had every sort imaginable and used most of them at some time or other and must admit that I'm still using some- 14 weeks later.

First weeks I found that while I lay on my back I needed a normal bed pillow under my knees and a towel roll under my ankles to keep heels from rubbing.  Sometimes a towel roll next to op leg to keep it upright. Also a small pillow by my head as my neck hurt if my head flopped sideways.

I tried the big body pillow a few times before I finally trusted it.  I lay on my back towards the middle of the bed, lifted the pillow with the handle and wedged it between my legs and then gently rolled over.  This action lifted the whole of the operated leg onto the top of the cushion so it was fully supported and it rested comfortably there.  I had both legs slightly bent so the cushion was also up on the bed.  I think the same thing could be accomplished with two bed pillows aligned down your legs.

i was fortunate to have the whole double bed to myself which really helped. I no longer use the big body pillow but have saved it for the next hip.
