Hi Jill I'm exactly the same sweating buckets or freezing cold I thought hot fluches were bad but I absolutely ring with sweat when it happens. I'm not sure if this is s symptom or not . I've also started talking amathriptalyne before bed but I can't sleep since taking them only getting 2 to 3 hours sleep a night anyone else had this problem ?

Hi tina, i'm gathering it is a symptom, i'm the same as you hot, cold, sweating to shivering.. i wish it would just pick one and stick to it.  I'm also on the amitriptyline 20mg at night, it doesn't help me sleep either but luckily i'm not having many disrupted nights.. talk to your doctor about dosage and see if you can it increased, it is supposed to help sleep so maybe your dose just isn't high enough.

i hope you get it sorted.

      take care.

Me, too. So exhausting. Never comfortable. I use fleece socks and jackets over a very light night gown. Electric blanket, eating pads, it's just part of this unknown illness. All the networks that aughta work, don't. It's a hard thing to live with. My mom used to get so mad at me for putting on and taking off my sweaters too often. We must look crazy. But it is what it is. We cannot regulate our automatic systems. Sorry. Love, abby

I meant autonomic system. No brain power when tired.

hi abot24558, i guess we just have to do what WE need to do to get through whatever not so wonderful symptom strikes us. other people just have to get over it and trust that we know what we need at that time.. my mum didn't get it till i gave her the booklet the rheumatologist gave me to read.. she does get it now, and is bending over backwards to help me.

it's good we have platforms like these where we can chat to people who just get it.

      take care.

Is it the fibro or the treatment?

Hi Kath, I think it's the fibro, but who knows what other side effects the meds give.

I have the same problem, dressing in layers has seemed to help. Always having water on hand should help also. Frequent temp changes are common with fibromyalgia. Unfortunately though it is very common. This disease is so confusing and has so many symptoms that you never know if it's the disease or something else. Keeping a journal ca. Help also. When you have over done it one day the next day is goi g to be brutal. Try to pace yourself and pay attention to when your feeling down try to take a break.
