Hi one and all just to let you all knowy Botox injection outcome.
I had this injection on the 6th December 2007, I was only in for the day, I feel so much better, no more having a bath at 2 and 3 in the morning.
The muscle spasms have gone, if anyone of you have read about me on this forum I was in a bad way, in pain every day, not good for anyone.
I feel so much better, I get a small abount of pain sometimes after going to the toilet, but all in all my bottom feels much better, I may have to go in for a second injection, I see my Surgon in FEB. I will keep you all informed, if you have any questions send me an e-mail, or post your questions on this forum.
Happy bottom pain free new year.

Hi, I'm having severe fissures and the pain has become unbearable. I broke my leg to make matters worse, but I still find the fissures more painful. I'm only 18 and am in college, very far from home. I am just dying here. I haven't had time to go to the doctor but I have been applying the oinments and had sit baths but nothing is working. I am in agony with every bowel movement which effects me the whole day; so I've been have them. But I'm going to the doctor day after tomorrow and should he suggest botox, should I agree? Or should I undergo surgery? I am in the ruts here; being so far from home and all alone, I am dying.

You poor thing. Many of us on here can relate and sympathise with the agony you may be going through.
From my experience (and I know this varies from person to person) I really could not recommend the botox surgery enough. I originally had a fissurectomy based on doctors advice and it made no difference whatsoever. I opted to go for private treatment and when a different consultant saw me on a Thursday evening he insisted on operating the following Saturday morning and could not believe how bad my situation was as my fissure had developed into a muscle spasm. I think this is the key factor in needing the botox treatment. This was 8 years ago. I have been (largely) pain-free since. The only occurrences have been lapses in water intake or poor diet!! Keep up the fibre but only when ensuring you have enough water...

I must use my own experience and even though I had a surgeon who was tomin his field I was in sheer agony after Botox. I would therefore be unable to ... on my own experience.. recommend to anyone for treating a chronic fissure.
9weeks after the procedure I still could not sit down for more than a few minutes without withering in pain. I could not walk more than 100 yards!!
Surgeon and 2nd opinion surgeon could not understand why but said I was just unlucky!!!
Do take your doctors advice and continue to use stool softener

i had botox first time that worked great for 3 months then i had to have them done again but 2nd time did nothing and i had to suffer all over again for 5 months. then i was referred for botox and a raw tere to the bowel to allow me to pass my bowel movements. i felt tender after that but my first bowel movement 6 days later was great lol
although i think it’s all healed back up and i’m starting to feel i need more botox again 😩😩😩

Having a second one today under General anaesthetic. A sygmoidoscopy boots plus or minus anal dilation. In the car appointment 11am. Slightly nervous been 13 years since my last treatment. But the pain I have experienced for the last 3 weeks. O have been through every medication I know including oramorph which I detest as a medical professional. Not even that touches it! I can't even pass wind!! Looking forward to having a good poo. Atm my bum home is the size of a pen nib wish me luck x
