Bowel habits - is it normal?

Hi ladies

I need to know, if change in bowel habits is normal during perimenopause...

I used to go once a day and with normal stools - only with changes during my period and ovulation. But now it can be all over the place. 1-3 times a day and a variety from diarrhrea to hard stools.

I have several other symptoms of perimenopause - no doubt I'm going through that fase. I am 47.

My normal used to be 3 to 4 times a day. Essentially after each meal. Now in post menopause I'm lucky if once a day. Constipation is a constant issue and bloating that affects my whole body. This is not my normal and I don't think I'm getting rid of enough of my toxins the way my body is functioning now.

I could live on fruits and vegetables and I'd have slow mobility it sucks. Never had until I was 52.

Thank you so much everybody - it's very kind of you to share your story!

It is helpful to know that I am not alone and to read what you do to cope.

OMG there are so many issues in peri - it almost feels like there is a new symptom every day or week...

Again - thank you all ❤️

Yes I found that I would normally go once in the mornings but with me, certain foods now can make me go more than once, like beans and Brussels, it's like they can unsettle my stomach more. I went through a stage that i couldn't eat green apples but i can again now

      Hi Elaine

For a couple of weeks it has been quite normal - once a day, normal stools. I am convinced it all comes down to hormonal changes 😃
