Brain fog

Anybody else out there feel like they have lost there mind. I know the brain changes as we get older, but at 50 this is ridiculous. Forgetting names, and walking into a room forgetting what you were going to do. What's your story?

Hi
Constantly but the more you try to remember the worse it gets !
I work so it can be very frustrating at times!
Not sure I have an answer for you?
But happy to listen 😊

I totally felt like I was losing my mind, couldn't concentrate or focus on anything. I started a new job and simply couldn't cope with learning new stuff. I was anxious, angry all the time and felt flat, no joy in anything anymore. I put up with this for about 6 years without realising it was the menopause! Then I started HRT, Tibolone, and within about a week I felt back to my normal self almost. Been on it ever since and my brain has definitely returned to normal function, not sure what I'd have done without it,

I took my friend shopping on Sunday, and drove off as she was trying to retrieve her shopping from the boot of my car! Even worse, when I heard her shouting and saw the anxious look on her face in my rear view mirror, I thought I'd reversed back and run over her feet even though I was going forwards.
Things like this happen to me all the time, also since I turned 50 last year. I just tell people that I have a tin of custard for brains. I find keeping a good sense of humour about it helps.
All the best, my fellow loony! xxx

It's just crazy! All of the different symptoms that I would NEVER have attributed to menopause.....I wish I had known it wasn't just going to be hot flashes and mood swings. Hang in there!!

So is that what this is. I was getting worried as I was forgetting simple words more often. People were having to give me the words for what I was wanting to say and I'm a legal secretary. Not a good sign lol. I'm turning 52 this year..I hope this gets better.

This actually made me laugh. You have to find some humor in all this insanity! I, too, say the wrong words ALL the time!! I'm gonna steal the "meno brain" phrase if you don't mind.

I have brain fog off and on. The last week has been bad, I find when I wake up in the morning and have a bit of time to stay in bed and think, I can tell my brain still works but it feels like my thoughts are stuck behind some sort of force feiod ..I don't know how else to describe the feeling... During work when I need to think fast, I get a scrambled up and usually forget something. Sometimes my brain works great but on the bad days I sometimes think I have early dementia.
